Only true subhumans would watch such stuff and cheer it regardless of that final outcome.
I watched this fight. Tragic indeed. Either my memory fails me or the vid is pronouncing his name wrong. I thought Duk was pronounced Duke.
Both going literally blow for blow, true worthy adversaries and a legendary fight indeed!
This is one fight alone with Edmil Griffith against Benny kid Perez where Perez died in the ring from too many punches to the head, in cases like this I blame the referees the corners of these boxers and also Mancini and Griffith, they are the only ones that could stop these kind of fights, especially the referees.
I saw this on ABC back then, it must have been live, rea, you could tell the Korean dude was F/U. I never watched it again and I'm not going to watch it again. watching a guy die in the ring left me feeling kind of weird.
crazy to think Ippo was based off of him and tyson…

I was 13yrs old when that tragic incident occurred. Doo Ku Kim, after 35 years, I still remember that. Wow. That Kim's Mother, the Ref committed suicide is beyond grief. 😢
