  1. The problem with the announcing in this scenario is that they refer to the area as “casual relief” but that is defined with PDGA rule 806.03, and casual relief is optional to take. The rule that applies in this event which announcers were unintentionally calling “casual relief” is 806.04 which defines “relief areas” which are mandatory to take outside of the relief area. Relief areas and casual relief are 2 different things and they did not make that clear.

  2. Yeah they should've designated it a different name..When I hear "casual relief" I think you can throw from that area or you can move backwards from it. They should call those areas "dead zones" or something different. Where your only option is to take relief with no penalty strokes.

  3. That's so sad, sorry Kat. There is another reason why we need the golfpolice on the job or on the card!

  4. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

  5. My biggest gripe with many, many rules in DG aren’t necessarily the rules themselves but the WORDING. Some of the language that is used is utterly bizarre and leads to possibly more confusion, or at least more than is necessary and in particular for on-the-spot situations when you need to find out the rules in a timely manner.
In the same manner, simplification of the rules (granted, the DG ones aren’t that complicated) would be great. Eg: a misplay from a RA is one penalty stroke in all circumstances. The whole “if you only threw once then it’s one stroke buuuut if you’re really stupid and threw twice, it’s two” thing isn’t necessary.
It’s a relief area, not out of bounds, so the punishment should be less.

  6. I guess I have to read the book. I don’t understand the difference between casual relief, relief and out of bounds

  7. First, why are do the rules require one to pass the BAR to decipher and second, why is this being announced highschool drama style, like just stating she didn't read the book is a mighty assumption and a petty additional comment.

  8. After watching this video, I realize there are things I'm too dumb to understand. I have no idea what anyone was talking about or what the weird signage was conveying.
