Is this a better team than the one they demolished Europe with in 2020? Personally, I don't think so. However, Zach said it a couple of times in his presser; he wanted to bring in the guys to make the team whole. I don't think it's coincidental that all of his picks were from the 2020 team, or in Sam's case, the Presidents cup.
Everyone claiming JT is a good pick cites his W/L record in Ryder and Presidents cups. An individual's past win-loss record in these events is largely meaningless. If a player is part of 3 out of 4 of the foursomes/fourball matches plus the singles match, their contribution to their win-loss record is less than 33%. Almost 20% is dictated by their partners' play in foursomes and fourballs and 50% is dictated by the play of their opponents. Every Ryder cup there are players that play great but end up with a losing record and those that play poorly and end up with a winning record. i.e. past performance in match play events from long ago is largely meaningless in predicting future performance. e.g. remember this past President's cup when Kisner got picked? JT may very well fare about the same in this Ryder cup…

Love the game live the Ryder Cup and all the captains, however, he left behind guys that have earned a spot on the team for someone that did not. JUSTIN THOMAS love the dude , but he didn't earn that spot. Keegan won twice, snubbed, Lucas Glover won twice, snubbed. Pretty disappointed and honestly I hope USA loses because of the shit choices
This will be the first year I will be cheering on the European team to win. I’m ashamed that Zach Johnson let politics cloud his vision as to who the best American players are.
