Proving a hardtail mountain bike is all you need – 10 reasons! A hardtail MTB is the only bike you need so I ride my Canyon Stoic on all terrain like trails, jumps, skateparks and urban freeride just to prove it! Would you ride one?
Hardtail mountain bikes seem to get forgotten about when mountain bikers buy a new bike so I thought i’d show these incredibly versatile bikes some love and give you 10 reasons why you should keep or get yourself a hardtail MTB right now! For today’s video I’m riding the Canyon Stoic, an aggressive hardtail that sits at the top of the hardtail line up. I was actually surprised how good this bike can handle the big hits and how totally well rounded it actually is, after this video i’d like to say that this bike is slowly stepping up through the ranks and getting closer to becoming my favourite bike!
I hope you enjoy the video!

Let's not forget the best reason to ride a hardtail: to show off how much more skilled and/or tough you are than everyone else. Ok I'm joking. The real best reason is because they are more fun to ride on everything except the gnarliest trails.
Sam with this video… probably has more then 20 bikes himself
Now take away the gears and all your problems go away.
Are you going to be at pheonix festival
Some of THE best riders on our trails are on older (old) hardtails.
Wait, so I don’t need a gravel bike, a road bike, a hybrid and a retro road bike too? 🤷🏻♂️😂
No7; So, a hard tail is better on rough trails, by simply avoiding the rough trails? Sam is a literal genius 😅
Love my hard tail, and super fun in bike park riding, just not In tecky rockgardens and sitting down for a rest, mid run, like my riding pals👀
"Hardtail Homies always win"-Cam Mccaul 😂
What I like best about a hardtail is I can put my rack and fishing pole holders on the back for the ultimate fishing machine
Could you potentially do a full maintenance video on one of your bikes? Or possibly pick up an old bike that needs some TLC and show us you restoring it. Love the vids ✌🏼
you should review the switch e bike convertor
Best Channel on youtube hands down
The line between Blake Samson and Sam Pilgrim continues to blur 😂
I was already thinking about selling my fully to get a smaller hardtail, this isn't making it any easier 😂
Sam Pilgrim is a genius of media, Canyon is obviously ahead of the curve.
hi sam. could u make a video of a random bike park in manchester i wanna go but i dont know which one is good
Yeeeaaah, hello from Czech, you are Best Sam 🤘🤘🤘
I was riding on FS bikes for a loong time and got a hardtail a few years back, best decision ever, I learned so much from riding it.
i ride hardtail the most for biking for exercise and around city paths/parks/trails. Take my enduro my 27.5 for road trips to ski resort mountain bike trails
凄い技術でかっこいい😎
Sam I love your vids hope I can be like you one day currently saving up for a new bike to get me better at mtb keep up the good content and you always entertain me
Love your energy and the excitment for the good old hardtail. What size frame are you riding? Do you size down so it works better for the pumptracks and skateparks? Cheers!!
my mate saw you at warley hehe
They're real fun until you split one in half
Wait till you find out you don't need front suspension either.
A gnarly 60 mph rocky downhill on a hardtail? No thanks brah, I'll take full sus thanks!
How about rigid MTBs?
i was in winterberg whit a hardtail
Sam, you should check the mtb community of the Philippines they’re builds are absolutely crazy
Are those 29 inch wheels or 27.5
Love those stoic frames but the specs are a letdown
Best 'to the sky' in ages!
I have the same bike but with a 150mm fork and it is awesome!
I really enjoy riding my HT and agree with everything you say, except that HTs will do it all. I don’t have a fraction of your skill and my FS allows me to ride trail centres that’d destroy me on my HT. In fact, some trail centres discourage HTs. In that sense, the FS does it all for an average rider like me.
I love hard tails. Definitely have had seat buzz on the dually. Sam just looks at home on anything he rides. Sick air in the Raptor too Sam. 😎👍
You should try a hardtail fat tire bike
I am going to get an electric mtb! That's the only bike you ever need. Those things are awesome!
Refreshing to see someone not always pushing the unaffordable ( (to most people) bikes…..loved the video !!!!
Can't ride a hardball mtb anymore knees are shot bone on bone miss them
Yep ! I love my Hard tail it's an urban tank only one puncture and that was my fault so no complaints at all .
that hardtail looks great. would like to have that 😊😊
What are the dimensions of your Stoic, What shock you have in the front, what tires and rims you have?
What about just one reason to fill in missing teeth?
The only bad thing about sending huge jumps on hardtails is that you get massive buckles but they are still truly epic
why does it even have shifters when its for freestyle
Yes yes yea! Preach it Sam, hard tails for the win!
Always said If I could only have one bike it would always be a hard tail, never had anybody agree with me though. Your spot on with all 10
