Former MLB Umpire did this for an entire game, Game 5 of the 1997 NLCS. He didn't get suspended, although he was never selected to work the playoffs after that year.

Not disagreeing that the ump sucked, but the call was obviously retaliation for the batter challenging the ump's call by showing him where the ball passed the plate with his bat.
How can we watch the game in the entirety unedited? The ump is saying there was a lot of loud racial slurs being thrown at him and with such a small crowd it should be easy to hear.

For anyone that does not know, the umpire who made this call siad that he had been abused all game, including ejecting 2 players and a fan calling him the n-word. He admits he shouldn't have called that pitch a strike, but this shows how sometimes enough is enough

Yes, the batter may have overreacted a bit to a borderline call on that first pitch, but that gives the umpire no excuse to retaliate other than maybe ejecting him. Deciding the whole game because your feelings were hurt is shitty behavior and this ump will hopefully never officiate at any level ever again.

Strike 2 I thought was a ball but could see it being called a strike. I get the player's frustration – not the first time we have seen that in any level of baseball – but you could say it was over the top to a degree, and you don't want to stage an ump or ref.
Two wrongs don't make a right though and strike 3 was definitely not that and the umpire was just simply wrong and unprofessional there. I would have lost my cool as well as the batter over something so blatant.

What this umpire did is why I have always disliked umpires that I’ve had in games I played. This is so common. They call a bad strike, and as a hitter you make it clear that that was a bad call. And what does the thin skinned umpire do? They make another intentional bad call to make you pay because you complained about their last bad call. That’s why as much as I love baseball, I never would dirty my soul by putting on an umpire uniform. The only umpire I have ever seen that was fair in all cases was Angel Hernandez. Just couldn’t have a throw an AH reference out there cause he’s the worst. Umpires make mistakes. They are human. But this vindictive garbage they play is only done by low lives.
