Daniel's best time during today's test was 1:27.415, 7 tenths off Max's pole.
On different, harder compound tyres with no tyre blankets and under different track conditions.

All speculation aside, it's a great period in racing there's some serious talent stocks out there. If you think about it there can only be 1 or 2 (possibly 3) world champions in the next 10 years. Including MV that'll could leave Norris & Piastri that's are genuine contenders at this stage with the rest making up the field. There may be a dark horse out there but not from what I can see from the "current" crop.
Russell, hmmmm…Albon, no… Tsunoda, immature…Leclerc & Sainz definitely not….. Alonso unless they bring in a high speed Mobility scooter, no…. same for the rest.

Is it possible Danny Ric's performance here showed RB that they need to get him back on track, and the fastest way would be in the Alpha Tauri, considering De Vries was expendable? I don't think being in a lower order performing car will such a concern for DR now as he will still be part of the RB family with fewer unrealistic expectations placed on him. Will be very interesting to see how much of a difference he makes.

I was allowed a few laps in the RB19 after Daniel. Pipped his time by a few tenths. The car’s alright, I have to say. Someone might even win a championship with it someday.
Who would have thought Dan would be back so fast lol. I had high hopes for De Vries and I think they should have given him a bit more time, but that being said I think it's an understandable decision. They already have Yuki in there who basically still drives like a rookie and an experienced guy will probably be a good help. De Vries was probably always someone they were unhappy to take and was just what they considered the best option when Gasly left to Alpine.

I've been singing "The boy is back in town" for the last 24 hours since Danny was announced as the AlphaTauri replacement.
He is the only 1 what the true difference is between the RB and the AT. Would love to hear what his experience is between those 2
They're giving him a try in the AlphaTauri but at 34 and a meandering career path, I think he will be lucky if he lands that ride for next year. 8 wins is nothing to sneeze at so time will tell.

Excuse my ignorance but if that’s max’s car, why does it have Daniel’s 3 on it? Have they changed the number on the car specifically for him during testing?

People can and will speculate all they want. Point here is that come end-of-season we'll all know the answer. I am hoping though that he does do well. Just my opinion but he's great for the sport and an exciting driver to watch.
Daniel was good at ToroRosso and RB but sucked everywhere else. I mean, Vettel is another one. Good in a Red Bull but hopelessly bad in a different car. Lets hope this is just a classic characteristic of RB drivers and Danny will show good form in the AT…
Is RB and HAAS running the current car and Mercedes running the 2020/21 car?
Dann will be good to get their car set up and ready for next year. Then is say he will be swapped again to be the Red Bull car No 2. That's my prediction
Lets be realistic here Ricciardi will never drive for RB again. Max will be vone the older driver of the tram and Yuki most lively will be the young driver. This is just so they can see if Yuki is RB material or the other drivers like Nyck just couldn't deliver.

So he drove Verstappen’s car and went .7ths slower? Imagine if he drove Perez’ car. Much slower maybe as much as a second. He will have a hard time beating Tsunoda in my opinion
As the V6 engines trundle down the pitlane on the pit limiter they sound great but at higher rpm under load they sound lack luster.
I really wanted to see his actual lap and times.
