Indycar legend calls F1’s competition a “joke” 😳

Indycar legend Will Power has said that the competition within F1 is a “joke” due to the fact there is such a big difference in pace from the front to the back of the grid. Do you agree with what Will has said? Let us know in the comments.

  1. One hundred percent I agree with him. I have followed both series now for over 30 years on and off and Will summed it up. Although for me personally, it's the power steering. And Formula 1LOL come on, man. Power steering? Yes, the philosophy is different in F1 and indie of course, and both have their strong suits. F one is a platter of things, but n d card is an open wheel racing series.

  2. It would be cool if F1 was a driver's sport instead of a constructors sport, but sadly that's just not the case

  3. There is way more enjoyment watching them go around in circles for lap after lap than it is to watch RB win also next race calling it now Red Bull win the Dutch Gran Prix and a Mercedes will finish second or third if the second Red Bull car doesn't finish second first

  4. Will Power is a “joke” when it comes to understanding real racing, instead of the late FCY “jokes” that create ignorant fan “entertainment” in the US. Even Indy was the victim this when the organizers shamefully broke their own rules to have a supposed 2 lap “shootout” that snatched the rightful win from the real winner in the very same sort of blatant stupidity that robbed Hamilton of his 8th championship.

  5. Tough situation. F1 has complex rules and formulas and historically at least in recent decades some incredible engineers on one team find a way to exploit the rules and have a virtually unbeatable car. What is really difficult to grasp is why it is only one team! The resources expended in F1 should result in more equal capability, but it doesn't. But to make F1 like Indycar or NASCAR in terms of spec racing would be very unfortunate.

  6. There are too many regulations, too much technology and too much money invested in the technology. Also there is political correctness stifling freedom and lots of corruption and cheating. That why it is a shadow of its former self.

  7. bullshit take. Best thing about f1 is the constructors science project space race.

  8. I don't know about that, but I do think that any series that introduces gimmicks to manufacture fake "passing action" is a joke. But also to render all cars effectively identical as if it's a spec car series and then complain it's boring is also a joke. Don't get me wrong, spec car series has it's purpose – where the focus is on the driver. But car racing should also be about car building IMO. And that means when someone builds a better car, it should be allowed to shine and not be artifically hammered down. I miss the days when car racing was more organic, and less sterile as it is today.

  9. I agree with him on the state of F1 but not his solution. Sure it's a little predictable and you could call it boring, but at the same time F1 is a competition for the constructor as well. That's why there is so much innovation from Formula1 into road cars and stuff.

  10. I’ll say this. Once the turbo hybrid era began f1 has been a HUGE disappointment.

  11. I think it’s a cool idea how f1 allows for cars to take advantage of their engineering side, but that’s why it’s so hard to nail down decent rules for the cars. If they were equal it would be better racing, but it would take away from the ability of the engineers to make a car better. I think it’s just how you view it.

  12. If you’re a European whose never watched an Indycar race please do not comment on this discussion 🤣 The only thing that makes F1 more entertaining is the lack of commercials during broadcasts but other than that Indy beats them out everyday.

  13. If there were no f1, there would be no indycar. Will Power wasnt/isnt good enuff to be in f1, that's why he isnt there

  14. Based on how Palou is dominating this season you wouldn't know it's a spec series 😭

  15. I started watching indycar this year and it's much more entertaining than f1.

F1 is the best at technological development but it creates a very uneven field and is boring most of the time.

  16. No a lot of the engeneering goes it goes down to their road car's
