He's not playing well but he's also 20.
He's at a level that the other three were not in just two years.
This was a difficult day it was a lot of waiting for rain delays and it was stop start.
That's tough for someone with not a lot of experience.

Can't do that against a player like Carlos. You know you will get punished.
A lot of people saying Alcaraz played bad here but to be fair its was Thompson that made him uncomfortable that forced him to play bad, credit to this guy who is improving very quickly! He has a very bright future if he keeps improving at the rate he is.

This summary lives up to the (good) old principle of showing the points where the guy at the net loses. I do recognize it looks cool with those passing shots and lobs, but I want the net players to have more success in modern tennis, so I cheer for the guys who can win points with strong volleys (and not just drop volleys, as Alcaraz so often does).
It seems Alcaraz is trying to take care of himself not playing at that intensity that we're used to see from him. For some reason he looks a little slower in every aspect like reaction, strikes, movement… who knows what's happening to him 😕
