  1. I think Thiem was a beautiful player., maybe he just burnt 🔥 himself out!! He was a thorough gentleman and I had enormous respect for him.
He was soooo close in that AO to defeating Djokovic., if Djokovic hadn’t pulled that BS bathroom break when he did, Thiem would have won that 5 setter.,
    In fact, he should’ve won.
Djokovic always pulls that bathroom stunt whenever he’s in trouble.
Bathroom breaks should be banked after set 3 in a 5 setter!

  2. You are some journalist trying to make some compelling argument about a sport you really know nothing about. Just stop with these videos.

  3. It is only human that most of us wanted to see more of prime Thiem. His game was simply amazing. He would be fighting for titles and number 1 with Djokovic and Alcaraz now. Imagine a clash between prime Thiem and present Alcaraz. Such a shame – but he seems ok with his fortune, thats all that matters.

  4. I like thiem but im sorry many players faced more heartbreaking injuries and came back from it, nadal has suffered with injury issues all his life. He just doesn't have the mindset anymore, and with the rise of alcaraz and the new next gen, hes probably not coming back. He is among the best of his generaetion with tsitsipas, medvedev, zverev, but fighting the big three and now with the rise of the new players like alcaraz and rune i don't see a way back from him. His playing style has changed and he no longer is a hard hitter. his game was always one dimensional and he probably would have more grand slams if not for nadal being so good at clay. I still think overall he can be proud of his career.

  5. No fans in the arena after he won his first major did him in. That killed his motivation.

  6. Its sad to say that major injuries could really wreck a player. The tendon will never be what it was and the eay he played caused a fresh tendon to deteriorate to injury. Imagine a damaged tendon. You sinply cant play the same way you did.

Without his hard hitting and feeling restricted, its super hard to climb the ranks like he did before.

Its sad, and i really hope he gets back close to where he was. 😢

  7. For some people, reaching a lifetime goal can be deflating of motivation and purpose. For others it's a big release of the monkey off the back and they then play better with more confidence.

  8. I remember watching him break through in Umag, Croatia to win his second title, back when he was sporting bleached blonde hair, circa 2015. He seemed to be a clay court specialist who expanded his game to fit the hard courts as well. Hope he overcomes the mental block, because that's where all struggles begin and end.

  9. Thiem was far away the very best of the new young guns ; he had the best all round game and best big match winning mind
Sad to see him not go all the way

  10. Thiem was far away the very best of the new young guns ; he had the best all round game and best big match winning mind
Sad to see him not go all the way

  11. I don't care, I still thinkDom is an awesome player , you try playing and then talk, it's not easy trust me, all loves to him

  12. Thiem's biggest problem has always been his court positioning. His default rally position is 10-15 feet behind the baseline. It is extremely difficult to play the game and win consistently from that far back. You can do it, but you have to put in a ton of road work to stay in points and you have to take massive cuts at the ball. He was able to do it for a couple of years, but that playing style is going to wear on you in time.

  13. Defo mental. That hunger of winning more is something that can’t be created easily. It makes Novak, Nadal, Federer’s multiple slams even after injury all the more remarkable. Dom is a mere mortal compared to them.

  14. Its not mental problem, its pure physical, he lost timing and feel, without timing and feel he is basically a good amateur player, no way he can beat any 100 player, I feel for him, its better be fatigued or injured than losing timing and feel.

  15. He wasnt as good as people thought, thats all. Never was near the big 4, Nadal, Federer, nole and Alcaraz

  16. If he is willing to drastically modify his snap backhand he may have a chance, like Nole did for his elbow regarding his serve. A double handed backhand maybe his only way.

  17. Thiem is becoming next del potro i feel…started with a boom then injury hit and ended it all for him…

  18. That's why Djokovic is a hero!
It is NOT easy to get to the top and stay there for 15 years!
36 years old and a winner make Djokovic a masterpiece!

  19. Hard to feel bad for a guy that didn’t believe lower ranked players worked hard enough to get some support during covid

  20. He won a Grand Slam, was top 3 and won important matches against the Big 3. If you ask me, it was a great career. Amazing players like Nalbandian, Davidenko, now Tsitsipas have not been able to win a GS.

  21. Just like Murray these guys were stopping the big 3 in their prime sad what happened to them

  22. One of my favorite players because he broke the stranglehold of the Big Three, and had a beautiful one handed backhand. He can still retire with pride and say he reached top three and won the ATP masters and a USO

  23. I think he is struggling with his sexuality. I’ve seen the signs many times over with him and other athletes. He won’t be back until he accepts who is.

  24. He played decent at Wimbledon to be fair. That back hand. I’d love to see him back.

  25. We often dismiss the mental when that is what drives the physical. His strong wrist action to generate power was what got him to his dream of being on top. After the injury he realized he would have to adjust that and begin again, the difference being that he had been to the mountain top, lived his dream, but now understood the struggle to do what he had ALREADY done. We've all experienced this: We dream of accomplishing something and then do it. It takes a very single minded person to keep striving for an experience we've had before and ask ourselves what NEW mountains are left to climb?

  26. After the baez final it is clear to see that Thiem will never be his old self. It’s sad but you can visibly tell. He doesn’t want it anymore…

  27. He won a Slam anyway, which legitimately makes him one of the 152 greatest male players in tennis history

  28. He was a player more about his physique, rather than his skills. Which leads you to nowhere in current days of tennis.

  29. I think Thiem's issue is that he never really had a lot of confidence and felt like he overachieved by winning a slam. His peak level was amazing but he was never a born winner. I think his struggles since winning the USO have been a combination of lack of motivation and injury to his wrist. Unfortunately his forehand isn't what it used to be.

  30. I loved watching Thiem. At his heighth, he was both powerful and elegant. He was also a true gentleman and stortsman. He was a good loser and, more importantly, a good winner.

  31. You never believe how big fan I am of thiem. Love to see him lift the Roland Garros trophy 🏆
