If you want to boldly predict that Mahomes gets injured, Reid leaves the team for half a year, and all the 2nd and 3rd year starters simultaneously get worse — then okay. At least those are reasons. Not likely, but bold nonetheless.
At least have reasons. The world has enough Skip Baylesses. The Chiefs have not shown even the slightest inkling that they won't actually be better this year than they were last year. They're a lot deeper now.
