The Monty Show has new details about ACC expansion with Stanford and Cal. Is Stanford Football good enough to change minds in ACC expansion? Does ACC expansion rest with Miami, Clemson, North Carolina, and Florida State? What does Cal bring to the ACC? Is SMU an ACC expansion candidate as well?

Which NFL QB’s are playing for their jobs? Mac Jones with New England Patriots? Jimmy G with Las Vegas Raiders? Russell Wilson with the Denver Broncos? Who needs a hot start to keep their NFL career moving?

  1. I wouldn't be surprised if UNC flipped. FSU and Clemson will not. I'm not sure about Miami. I would never take Cal, I hope they do not take Stanford. I would rather SMU than Cal. They will give FSU, Clemson UNC and Miami more money from the expansion to try to keep them from bolting in the next 5 years. I'm not sure if the UNC administration thinks they are much different than Stanford. UNC is not a football school. Many there would be fine with a UCONN or Villanova-type basketball focus. They would like B!G or SEC money.

  2. They’re not student athletes anymore they get paid millions of dollars I know not everybody’s getting paid millions but they can handle flying across the country they do in the NFL and that’s where all these kids wanna go so consider it practice

  3. Nice to know Monty is from Sacramento and spent time on "The Farm"– I grew up and graduated from Stanford–born in their old hospital know then as Palo Alto Hospital (1953); then to Woodside HS on to Stanford in the Tennis Program–at age 9 I took lessons from the head coach Dick Gould when he was at Foothill College… My Grandfather and Dad also went to Stanford before WWI and WWII and Vietnam for me.

  4. Really the true controlling part of this expansion is ND. If ND becomes a “full” member of the ACC, there is no doubt the west coast teams are in. Otherwise, no.

  5. Stanford should ask the B10 for membership and zero money in perpetuity. With. 7 billion endowment they don’t need money

  6. SMU was made an example of with the death penalty. All of those major programs cheat and always have but SMU was punished. They’ve paid their dues and deserve a shot in a P5.

  7. Stanford by themselves can write their own ticket. Cal-Beijing is toxic. If the ACC really needs two more teams, they should add Stanford and SMU.

  8. The ACC Network gentlemen. That expansion into the California and Texas markets is what this is all about. It makes ESPN allotta money. Guess who else makes money?

  9. It's going to be awesome if Stanford and Cal get added to the ACC and FSU, Clemson, and UNC vote against it but their addition passes anyways. Then FSU, Clemson, and UNC can leave to go to the B1G next year and fight it out with the ACC in court. The valuable schools will argue that the ACC's old GOR is void because the ACC is forcing them to fly all the way across the country to play Stanford and Cal against their will and they would lose money do to the excessive travel. Since they never agreed to sign a new GOR after the ACC changed the original contract they will have a strong legal claim. By the time the fight it out in court it will take 5 to 10+ years and the ACC probably won't even exist by then. Even if the valuable schools eventually lose in court they would just be placed on an affordable payment plan. This is FSU's chance to crack that GOR, that they have been crying about, like a fortune cookie with B1G money inside.

  10. If you let Cal and Stanford in prepare for protest at every game. Prepare for threatened boycotts unless you yield to their demands. Does the ACC want this mess? I hope NOT

  11. No any new teams won't have a vote they won't be full members for multiple years so they cant vote on the granite rights until they're full members. But you make a good point why some of the ACC teams don't want to deal with California politics that's why the Big 12 didn't add them or Oregon st or Washington st, plus they're too far away and the Big 12 has multiple religious schools and these areas don't play well with religion. Oregon was horrible to BYU.

  12. My question for ACC players members families would you feel safe traveling to California and attending a football game? It's already really far away but would you feel safe?

  13. I am new and was going to subscribe but your comments about Washington State and negative attitude about the university turned me away.

  14. Honest to God, with all that money endowed to athletics, you'd think, in today's money-grubbing climate, that Stanford would be first in every single sport. Why is this not so, he asked sarcastically.

  15. These fools keep putting basketball in the same.category with football. Football stands alone

  16. MONTY do you two have NO IDEA how the ACC Network earns money?
You must be CLUELESS about how they work to NOT KNOW how Valuabe this move is.
Getting into TEXAS and CALIFORNIA is a HUGE MOVE that PAYS HUGE MONEY.
Stanford is the 3rd Best Brand in California.
SMU is the best available brand in TEXAS.

BTW MIAMI VOTED YES in the Straw Poll
WTF are you talking about saying Miami will vote NO.
WTF are you talking about that this move would make it HARDER to break the ACC GOR… it has NO EFFECT on the GOR

It would make it EASIER to dissolve IF a dissolve was desired BUT IT IS NOT… they already HAVE the 8 to dissolve and did not do it.

  17. Sanford needs to use every tool they have to get in a P5 because of perception of not being in one and future opportunities.

  18. Wouldn’t SMU boosters be better off spending $40 million a year to buy five straight national titles. Are they not aware of NIL?

  19. If you're going to rip on the AAC, at least know the membership. Your FIU whipping boy isn't even in the league. Yet you used them over and over to denigrate the AAC.

Also, the P5 doesn't exist anymore. And the PAC4 all were relegated out of it anyway.

  20. It could be a big factor in whether the Big Ten stays at 18 for now, or goes to 20. Then plus 20.

  21. Nice try bagging on the AAC with references to affiliate members: Florida International (Men’s Soccer and Women’s Diving) and Sacramento State(Women’s Rowing)! Why didn’t you lump Florida and Vanderbilt (Women’s Lacrosse) in your commentary? They’re in the AAC too!

  22. Sacramento State is a member of the Big Sky not the AAC!!! Only Sac St women's rowing participates in AAC. So thumbs down!

  23. East Carolina U averages 40,000 fans in the stadium. They're the number onefan base in the AAC. SMU is lucky to get 18,000 people per game

  24. Bro Florida International and Sacramento State are not in the AAC what are y’all babbling about 😂😂😂😂😂 imagine having a CFB podcast and not knowing CFB

  25. As a Syracuse and UNC grad I am not excited about the travel for the athletes. It does add some presege but no.

  26. I am not an Iowa fan but they are constantly a top defense in NCAA football. They put a number of players in the NFL, including a first round pick who never started a game. Thankfully KF has his son as the OC or they would be great.

  27. For midwesterners they would not have Berkeley Do not hide behind the name CAL. It may be political but it is still real!

  28. Adding UConn to the ACC accomplishes more than all 3 of these schools! The BB capital of the world. Voted best university for Sports in the country OVER Florida St (runner up)… Made more sports profit than ANY P5 Team in any conference by MILLIONS! (Over $2 billion w a “B”)…. 16 National BB Championships! BTW had the same wins in FB as SMU last season witb their 3rd string line up & 13 injuries. Rivalries: UConn vs; Cuse, BC, Pitt, Duke, ND(bb), NC(BB). What ACC rivalry does SMU, Cal or Stamford have with any ACC school?
