Vintage Taylor Made Burner Driver/Fairway Woods.

Let’s go back to 1995 to look at the iconic Taylor Made Burner clubs.

  1. These were very desirable clubs then. I remember Ernie Els playing Taylormade and he had the Tour irons that were so so nice with the iconic Burner gold backs. Even then Taylormade had clubs that were instantly noticeable on T.V. I had and still have tucked away a Callaway Steel head 7 wood and the head is so compact modern day Hybrids look larger. As for a driver it was a 10.5 Orlimar tri-metal combined with the 13 degree fairway. They even had a 11 degree fairway and if you could hit it off the deck it went forever just bang on for Links golf.

  2. I still use the prior model 8.5* Tour Driver as my winter driver when the persimmons go into hibernation. Head size on those is down at about 150cc and fairways much less than that! I doubt the Titanium is as big as 300cc – probably closer to 200cc. I have some TM Firesole woods with the bubble shafts – not a great fan of those as even the stiff shafts feel whippy. My memory of when titanium became a thing was of a trail of sparks from the clubhead in the twilight! Not sure if that is where the Firesole name came from. Good review, thanks.

  3. Nice. I used the 9.5 non Titanium Burner Bubble driver for about 5 years. Try turning the headcovers inside out. Might find something interesting
