  1. Maybe JYD should have stuck to Pepsi or Jolt over Coke if didn't want Pick A Hand New Jack Gansta PUnch :). Collins I remember telling me how he got to go in ring for WWF with Junk Yard Dog doing that thing. I was never allowed to goto any wrestling events so it was like haha. EVen when he told me recently I thought of how cool that would have been. Everybody else would be talking about shows or this or that but me. I'd see NWA on TV or AWA or WCCW so was bigger fan than any of them. I even had the Remco Figures AWA Ring ;). Atlanta I don't even think I really remember him there until talked about it. I'd have VHS taping both shows as would get PPV but replay wouldn't have the REal Music ;). Fond Memories for sure hehe ;).

  2. That was big news at the time. Apparently Junkyard Dog owed New Jack some money and when he showed up, he didn't have it with him. He was honored on the show that night briefly IIRC and Wrestlepalooza 1998 was also Junkyard Dog's last televised appearance. The show took place on May 3rd, 1998, and JYD died in a car accident June 1st of that year. Very sad.

  3. It was at the cobb civic center. I grew up 5 mins from there i was supposed to go but was sick as a dog the day it came

  4. Great interview RVD and the old days at ECW vs Sabu but there’s a question I would like to ask if you even have a chance have one more title match in WWE or do you prefer managing next generation of stars and help them become World Champions

  5. Some young people may not realize that JYD was probably one of the top five babyfaces in North America during the pre Wrestlemania early Wrestlemania days. I mean under different circumstances he could have been a world champion but regardless of that he was still an attraction like Andre the Giant or Superfly Snuka.

  6. I think New Jack mentioned this one of his shoot interviews. I could of sworn he said it was over some bud but other than that the story is pretty much the same. I seem to recall New Jack saying he confronted JYD over some bud he had fronted him and JYD tried to big time him and said something like “I ain’t payin you nothing n** im the dog!” In a way to make it seem like he wasn’t going to pay him. I could be way off on this, my brain is too full of random wrestling facts lol

  7. Were you there for New Jack's fights with The Pitbull 2 and that Native American Dudley?

  8. Coke screwed him up and killed his career. he was a good guy and great wrestler though amazing with the kids and inspiring to young people wanting to get into wrestling

  9. JYD was definitely a top Babyface in the WWF after Hogan, he beat Macho Man in a tournament for a Rolls Royce, his feud with The Funks were a lot of fun to watch. New Jack did mention that Paul E offered to pay him the money that JYD owed and he we would even write Jack a check. New Jack told him he didn't want no check and he wanted the money from JYD.
