Dan Patrick Explains Why He Doesn’t Have A Problem With Eric Bieniemy’s Coaching Style | 08/09/23
Dan Patrick reacts to reports that new Washington Commanders offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy’s coaching style is rubbing some players the wrong way as well as explains why he doesn’t have a problem with Bieniemy coaching this way
I am going to venture a parallel observation. In the movie 'heartbreak ridge' clint Eastwood's character, marine gunny sgt. Highway, Comes in to whip into shape a bunch of recuites who have become content to take life easy as marines and initially resist him and his hard discipline, trying different ways to get rid of him. In the end he molds them into winners and they appreciate him. This is the same scene playing out on the commanders. Yes, some players will resist but they will either sink or swim. And in the end what you have left after the weak links have been weeded out is an offense in EBs image. To use another team as an example, the dallas cowboys. They fade down the stretch seasonally because they lack edurance at the end of the season into to post season. EB understands this and so did marty shotenhimer when he was here. Wirk them mercelessly ar the begining so that at the end they can hold up in the post season.
Tbh, it's hard to go agaist Coach Eric Bieienemy here. A 2x Super bowl winner as offense coordinator. With a little luck maybe 3 or 4 rings. He won championships at college and pro level. That speaks volumes.
One thing jumped out at me was the coach k analogy. Coach k was praised while Bobby knight was osterized. Same style since Coach k learned from knight. Coach k was not the coach everyone (Dan) thinks he was. Best players are easier to win with but dropping f bombs to players and refs while on national TV isn't cool. He was a real butt but worshiped because of his hype. When was his last championship?
People were so upset with tears rolling down their faces over the fact Eric Bieniemy wasn't a HC. Now they are complaining about his coaching style. Make up your freaking minds.
He said it himself – I’ll be your harshest critic and your biggest fan… translation I’ll tell you your faults , then help improve on them and make your attributes shine. Some people don’t like hearing their faults Clearly they’re not married yet
Jimmy respectfully shut up. It’s always the soft dudes who also have no experience playing football trying to make points. Everything is about being so soft and gentle, how about that doesn’t work with everyone anyways. These takes are so incredibly stupid!
As a chiefs fan, i loved EB. Hated that he had to make a lateral move to prove himself, didnt like losing him.. Hes always been this way. The washington team has been down for awhile. They probably NEED some of what he does in that locker room.

The Washington Powder Puffs
This is why they will not be any good as a team because they are too soft as players it’s going to take a few years to change the culture
Remember mike singletary said that he couldn’t coach the 49ers because of the same type of situation

Every fan in Dallas loves Jimmy Johnson. Now go look at his approach.
The NFL is getting too soft.
It's a gladiator sport.
They’re not winning with Ron’s leadership!

LET THE 💩 GO! 🤬🤬🤬🤬
Question… did any of you hear exactly what EB said to the players? How do you know it was toxic?🤔

That’s why you don’t understand it, because you never played football…
Football has always been this way! Get with it or get lost
Gen Z is coming of age in professional sports, not surprised about the complaining…..
Dan Patrick sidekick admits he’s never played football at any level but then proceeds to go on a rant about football coaches yelling 😂
Lmao 3rd person.
Was players soft as charming , 😢 to daddy cause coach trying to coach em up!
Imagine thinking that the guy with two super bowl rings needs to change his coaching style. The Commanders are such a bum organization.
We need more Tony Dungys in coaching.

Man up ya sissys! 🤣😂🤣
Oh no. Did he go third person. I don’t like that
Ron Rivera's DC with the CHI Bears…you guessed it…BUDDY RYAN…Need we say more…
those players sound feminine
as soon as you said " he goes third person i have a problem with that " was unnecessary. why cant he?

He needs to keep it up. Im a lifelong washington fan and soft approach hasnt worked. This team has lacked intensity forever.
The guy in the grey hoodie hit the nail on the head. Blue hoodie guy is soft.
