Frazier was often spoken of as a fighter, who just walked ahead, through punch’s, so he could land his own. He could certainly do that, but he mostly did very good defensive work! Bobbing, weaving, moving away. Watch in his fights how many times that opponents miss completely and he took many punches on his arms raised defensively. One of the greats!
There was a chasm between these two as far as class is concerned Frazier was one of the best hw and it was very evident here even in these snippets from a short fight
Good thing his name wasnt Ron Faller
Frazier was seriously tough. You weren't going to stand there and bang with him unless your name is George Foreman. But, how many others punched like Foreman?
Ron was such an underrated fighter at that time…..
I have seen a tape of the whole fight. This fight showed how much the Ali fight took out of Frazier. He took such a beating even in winning that he just wasn’t the same fighter. No disrespect at all to Stander who fought his heart out but the Frazier of the Ali fight would have ended this much quicker. Rest in Peace to both warriors.
