  1. IT's too bad the Jays are pretenders, while the Orioles are stacked for the future.

And as much as I like Ohtani, the Angels have one of the sport's worst owners.

  2. Brought the family to the Angels game last night… You could feel the unease when Este gave that first walk on 4 straight balls. Then threw 3 more consecutive balls to the next batter. We all knew it was bound to happen eventually… but not like that 🙁
Was awesome seeing that Shohei #40. The stadium was pumped!

  3. To Jolly's question, why aren't the Jays doing better? : Situational hitting. They are bottom 5 in a bunch of different RISP metrics. They never seem to get a runner home from third with less than two out. Also, the divisional woes are mostly just Boston and Baltimore, they're very close to 500 against TB and NYY.

  4. Wait so Buck gets credit for the 100 win season last year but no blame for the terrible season this year??

  5. Let’s be realistic: Flaherty looked good because the Blue Jays made him look like the best pitcher that has ever hit the mound. It’s a much bigger story to look at how poor Toronto has been this year. John Schneider is fortunate he manages in the same division as Aaron Boone, because otherwise he’d have a lot more people speaking about him as the worst manager in the league.

  6. Blue Jays is a great pick (fan here). Check out our RISP stats (3rd worst OPS and GIDP in MLB) and record against the AL East. Frustrating, particularly given the talent level and the closing window.

  7. It was a tough pill to swallow for Mets fan, but I think it was for the best. I feel the Yankees could probably learn the same, especially after the dumpster fire of a season they are currently having

  8. Braves shutdown the Cubs. Braves went out and humbled them. 8-0. Great return for fried. Couldn’t have asked for anything more

  9. It's not close between Gausman and Cole. Cole is the frontrunner.
Cole on the left; Gausman on the right:

    – WAR: 4.9; 2.2
    – W/L: 10-2; 8-6
    – ERA: 2.64; 3.20
    – GS: 23; 22
    – IP: 143; 132
    – SO: 157; 177
    – WHIP: 1.040; 1.167
    – ERA+: 160; 129
    – FIP: 3.27; 2.79

Gausman only leads Cole in SO and FIP. Cole leads Gausman in WAR, W/L, ERA, GS, IP, WHIP, and ERA+

Let's be real, this is just Jolly Olive being a Mets fan and letting his bias show.

  10. Jolly is everywhere. My main is the ultimate glue guy of Jomboy. Expected of a Mets fan whose got to deal with our struggle yearly

  11. You guys are quite literally the best baseball commentary there is these days!!!

  12. David Bell was most likely pissed at the Happ at bat. 2 pitches on the black were not called and Happ walked
