  1. Really respect Steve Young use to think or hear he would complain about playing time far from the case just super competitive much RESPECT

  2. Steve Young is/was one of the all time Worst football Analyst…nothing he critiques makes sense

  3. Whenever I see Steve Young interviewed, I think of the other great southpaw QB of their era, Boomer Esiason. In many ways, Boomer was a better QB, while playing on inferior teams, with no Jerry Rice to throw to. Come on HOF, let’s put Esiason, the most prolific left-handed QB in NFL history into the hall

  4. I was not a Niners or Young fan ( but not a hater) but I loved how he was so refreshingly honest about the relationship with Montana and it makes perfect sense.

  5. Steve Young may be the greatest dad/athlete/businessman/analyst/homeowner of ALL TIME. Full disclosure: he's one of our neighbors 😂

  6. SteveY sounds just like Super Dave aka Bob Einstein, Blindstein!!!!!@13:34……….gotta love it!!! One of the coolest and smartest cats on and off the field!!!!!

  7. Of the last 24 SB winning QBs, only 2 have been "runners". More great NFL analysis from Steve Young. His greatest accomplishment wasn't winning a SB, it was being able to stay employed at ESPN for as long as he did.

  8. I don't care if Steve Young really thinks Peyton Manning couldn't play or excel in today's game he still shouldn't have said that or said it the way he did just that blanket statement and throwing his name out there. That was a stupid move on his part. And I'm not even a Peyton fan at all, but geez show some respect.

  9. Love Steve. One of my favorite players of all time. Him and Jerry were 🪄

  10. The guy took a few too many shots to the head. I get sick of this BS about new plays this, new plays that. I remember Shanahan getting tons of credit for drawing up a 'genius' play in the 2nd Seattle game last year where Purdy faked a throw left then right, then hit Kittle over the middle for a TD. My god, it was just a very slight variation of the play Bill Walsh ran in the Superbowl vs Miami. Go watch it – the narrator's voice explains it perfectly: 'The running backs and guards split, causing Miami's linebackers to leave the middle vacated'.

  11. The follow up question for Steve is, we all know George Seifert is an outstanding coach, but if Walsh groomed Holmgren, would it have been better to let Seifert go to Green Bay and hire Holmgren?

  12. ESPN goofed ….. I wish Steve young was at least an OC but I know he has no interest. Good for him though

  13. GREAT segment!!! Young brought it. I'd like to know what the weird apology was about. Good on Dan & anyone who doesn't hold grudges.

  14. Why in the world didn't Dan ask if Steve was surprised he was let go by ESPN. Dan is getting so politically correct with his questions. You can telegraph his questions to guest anymore

  15. Just imagine if the government actually has to ever tell the truth about the secrets they've kept since WWII and people realize the Oppenheimer movie is not close to as an important movie as they think it is there was a lot of other secret stuff going on that was much bigger. Like keeping technology that could change our way of life and pollute the planet.

  17. Tough to compare era's, but there's no way Steve wouldnt have better numbers in today's game. And he was so much fun to watch. Eff Lawrence Phillips.

  18. Interesting comments about changing the rules on launching, and making space for easy yards. I wonder if those rules will also mitigate quarterback injury, which can upend a season or a career.

  19. Brady, Stafford most recent champs Mahomes different breed. But Pocket QBs can still win

  20. when they allowed tackles to essentially hold then it opened up the passing game because you didnt need a tb or fb to stay and block or a blocking TE.

  21. Dan missed a prime opportunity to start the interview with "Steve, I thought you would have more free time to call in since ESPN fired you".

  22. I wonder if it’s possible for Steve to appreciate the absolutely crucial and pivotal role he played backing up Joe. That run against the Vikings contributed as much to them making the playoffs as the Monday Night win over the Washington team. And his presence fueled Montana and probably raised his performance from’87-‘90
