  1. I think a better comparison of an NBA with no cap would be European Football. The best teams dominate for decades and only about 5–7 teams in the league matter.

  2. Whenever Steph’s name is mentioned in every show, I tend to auto-play 😂😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🏀🏀🏀🏀👀

  3. JJ, thanks for answering my question about Knox! Enjoy the break!

  4. My only issue with sport athletes making this amount of money is that unless u have that dog in u and do not want to lose anything. Guys stop playing like they love it and ball is there life. All sports. Julio Jones comes to mind cuz he got paid and decided he didn’t want to play. My point is it’s ruining sports cuz there is a handful of guys that ball is life but most get paid and don’t play like they could cuz they don’t need too. Which makes guys like butler, bron, etc frustrated as hell

  5. Great pod as always lads.
Mbappe refusing that generational Saudi bag ($500m for one season). Imagine the bag Lebron will get taking his talents to Al-Hilal beach 😂

  6. Franz Wagner… crazy jump last year? More like an above average rookie season and then followed it up by avoiding a sophomore slump. If your usage rises from rookie year to 2nd year, and you score 3 more PPG on similar FG% and turn it over about 33% more…. is that a noteworthy leap?

  7. as an OKC fan… there are many what-if's beyond the obvious ones. What if OKC drafted Brook Lopez instead of Russ and then drafted Curry over Harden the next year. KD, Curry, Lopez might have been 3 personalities that coexisted well….. and basketball wise… that's a winner

  8. Regarding life advice… One time in my twenties I was taking a wizz at a party and one of those calendars with a "quote for the day" was staring at me. The quote for the day was "success is a decision you make." It hit home. Like winning an NBA title, luck is a factor in success…. but for the majority, a decision to adapt successful habits and attitude yields results.

  9. Why are the Thunder left out of every conversation? You’re excited to see Houston and Detroit over the Thunder? We were projected to win 24 games last year and won 40. Shai was all NBA first team, Giddey was in his sophomore season and has the record as the youngest player with the most triple doubles, JDub was the 12th pick and almost won Rookie of the year, our coach finished second in coach of the year voting. And you’re excited to see the Rockets…wtf?

  10. DON'T SIGN A 5 YEAR CONTRACT WOTH A TEAM IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE THERE. OH NO! YOU MAKE 200 MIL INSTEAD OF 250.
Normal people turn down jobs for less money for convenience and fit, so we wouldn't do the same thing, sorry JJ. I hope they let Dame rot on the bench, don't trade him.

  11. Barry Bonds analogy is on point especially when you consider you can walk batters in baseball and Barry got walked ALOT

  12. Caddyshack is NOT overrated…. if anything, it's underrated…. that's the shittest take you've ever had JJ.

  13. I’m always curious as a what if, IF Detroit drafts Melo, to add to Chauncey, Tayshaun, Ben, I think he’s the piece that could keep that team going. An elite scorer, whose weaknesses would be hidden because of the great team play (defense, etc)

  14. We really got to stop using normal jobs as an analogy for what a person would do if they were the NBA player. The numbers are too different, and also normal people take lower paying jobs all the time for various reasons whether it's work-life balance, commute, goals in relation to experience, etc

  15. Man I wish you weren't joking about Columbus, good size city and a lot of good food, nowhere near the nightlife of a huge city but we would sellout every single game, all we have is hockey, soccer and Ohio State and its a bigger metro area than like 8 nba teams, more money in the city than Cleveland for sure

  16. Another great episode as always. Quick suggestion: when you guys come back, can you do a quick roster review, players analysis, fit and style of play of the top contenders of each conference!? Go player by player, do they fit? Strength of bench. Can this player help this team or should they find someone else!? This type of analysis based on your perspective of that team style of play, what the superstars on that team needs and style of coaching from the head coach, as well as expectations for that franchise going into the 2023-24 season. Thank you for the great content once again. I’m a big fan!

  17. Portland isn’t drawing anything out. Miami knows they are the preferred destination and are offering less than the best, holding lillard as ransom. Portland SHIULD NOT accept Miami’s deal. Period. HE IS DAMIAN LILLARD

  18. Dead poets society scene where Robin Williams talks about Point of view standing on the desk is a true life advice!
