Evian Championship: Carlota Ciganda disqualified after refusing to add slow play penalty to scorecard

Just read her comments on the DQ. She accuses the rules official of lying. She prefers to take the word of family and friends who did not actually time her having no stop watches! She infers she should not have been timed as the group behind we’re not on the tee. And finally she said 20 seconds do not make any difference. This sums up what is wrong with ladies golf. Even in the best conditions it is painfully slow unwatchable live. Rules are in place to control slow play, sadly not often implemented. Ciganda tried to rationalise the rules, it is irrelevant what the group behind are doing and if you are 20 seconds over the time it does matter.
