  1. These things difficult to grasp.Dustin Johnston outplayed everyone from U.S.Open till last liv!!! Gotta figure putts drop he wins British by 3 Instead he bombs! Duval falls off the planet!! Thornborg Oleson birdie machine you think for sure he will want to make name for himself last week but no he🙂 bombs!! Although I play good occasionally I'm not consistent good and good many bad rounds ! Most logical explanation that's realistic is that like me they have nagging pyhsical afflictions that they are reluctant to mention cause people will accuse them of making excuses!!!

  2. The humor is an nbc stooge asking rory about JT as a ryder cupper. Of course McIlroy thought JT should be on the team. Really? Why does his other team opinion count. Then ask Johnson. Lots of warm fuzzy friendships nonsense. Sad really

  3. It would be sad to see if his career really does nosedive from here. It's an interesting comparison Jake. Equally we were all asking whether Ricky Fowler was done not too long ago – however he seems to have worked it out. If it is not injury related, I wonder whether or who is JT's mental coach?

  4. If you look at history most golfers have a 5-year hot streak then drop off. Nobody has the psycho killer instinct of Tiger and very few have the talent of a Mickelson or DJ or Rory. Spieth (2014-2017), Day (2014-2018), Bubba (2011-2018 with 2 years off due to a crappy ball sponsor). It's incredibly rare for golfers to be top level for more than half a decade.

They are still top players of their time though because of how hard golf is.

Scheffler and Rham are currently in their hot streak. There is no way Scottie holds up with his bizarre action and Rahm is good but not a generational talent.

  5. I have lived in Ponte Vedra Beach FL for 35 years and played regularly at the PGA Sawgrass course so I know a little about Duval. In his case there was a loss of passion for the game. Made some big endorsement money and then dropped off the map. I think his situation is different than J Thomas. I can't tell with Thomas if he's dealing with an injury but he needs to shut it down in my opinion, regroup and sort out the numerous area's his game is failing.
