Why Tiger and TMRW Sports Want Saudi PIF PGA Tour Deal to Die

Rory McIlroy says “If LIV Golf was the last place to play golf on Earth, I would retire.” Too good to be a random line. Did Tiger Woods and TMRW Sports give him that scripted sound bite to repeat…..of course they did. But why? How is TMRW Sports team golf league being hurt by the PGA Tour Saudi PIF Deal? Here’ss our analysis.

  1. Ed Hurley’s legal firm represents the PGAT ,so all the legal fees were going to his firm , no wonder he wants the PIF’s money

  2. [ Tiger Woods – does not realize or understands that – [ Tiger Woods is not – / white / – ] – which has been obvious – from his numerous insidious comments about – / liv golf / – – he does not understand that he is only relevant as an entertainer – – He is NOT regarded as someone of relevance –

  3. I'm happy Rory's getting a lot of flack. He has treated his fellow players like sh!t, and deserves all he gets……and more. Both he and Tiger are out for themselves, and stuff the rest of them. After all, if the other players want more money and a bigger say in things, all they have to do is……'play better' right!!…………….twat.

  4. Yep the deal needs to die or I look really foolish not taking the $1.2 billion LIV offered me! The deal needs to die or my TMRW dies!!

  5. It is amazing, what conclusions we draw from Tiger's silence. I can only imagine what conclusions we might come to, if he actually spoke.
I expect that he will tee it up at the 2024 Masters, in hopes of making the cut, and should he have any other ambitions, that might cause him to lose a moment's sleep, I will wait for "his" actual announcement.

  6. Spot on, as always! Confirms my suspicions from the outset that the root of Rory's unhappiness was all about his business interests with Tomorrow Sports. Thanks a mil! (And wouldn't be nice if one of the "mainstream reporters" asked, "So, Rory, what are your feelings about how the "merger" will impact your start up venture?")

  7. There was a bigger intent with TMR golf. They had ideas about taking over the entire PGA Tour. They saw a few years early what everyone sees today. That the Tour itself is worth less than 3 billion total. The average golf fan didn't pay any attention. It is on every week 4 days, must be worth more than some tertiary city NBA franchise, right? Uh, no, Jordan just sold Charlotte for more than the entire PGA Tour is worth.
But Tiger can't compete with Saudi money. And he is 5 years too late to be extremely relevant.
In a short 10 years Tiger will be Jack, Arnie, Hogan; a relic of the game. People under 30 would have never seen him play in just a few years.
Give Greg Norman credit. He saw ALL of this. Golf will never be the same again.
After Tour management looked so two faced every major player will jump league if this merger doesn't go through.

  8. Tiger and Rory are quickly morphing into intolerable Prima-Donna’s. Frankly if Rory doesn’t shut his mouth – I’ll stop watching his punk azz! Just shut up Rory!

  9. The Emails I have from The PGA HQ are contradicting the narratives I’m receiving from the young men who are in the PGM PGA University Program (at my suggestion or recommendation or whatever you could call my best advice at the time it was given) and never mind me, I’m 41 and don’t have to do anything, but I’m really concerned about the future of the younger generation that either will or will not support the game as Golf Professionals.

    Shelf Life.

If I were the PGA, LIV, etc., I’d be scouting the AJGA NCAA and The Qualifiers in a big way. Same goes for those pursuing professional careers in the business. This deal is so inorganic I believe they’ve forgotten the old CC membership maxim: Young Blood.

  10. He’s way off, team golf sucks, there’s no huge demand for it. I’m a big supporter of LIV but the team aspect has never interested me. Golf is not a team sport, never will be.

  11. This is so simple and everyone I play golf with agrees. The PGA Tour simply needs to say to current and past (liv) players to honor the playing requirements of pgat , then play other tours if so desired. The players will come and go as they always have. Threat is gone, or certainly diminished.

  12. This channel is by far the smartest commentator on the golf world and you should capitalize on that but you gotta get organised…there are at least 20 big story lines going on right now….and Dark star seems to be in hiding with Jay….this period right now will transform pro golf….

  13. I agree with Dark Star about Tomorrow Sports. Once the novelty wears off, it dies fast.

  14. Don't the players have a say in Franchise tag tool aren't they independent contractors? The players need to unit and put the hammer down on the tour they have leverage right now. Once Newco takes over they will lose the leverage and endorsement $$$$

  15. Dark Star on the money. Tiger got to do his thing, then PGAT pivoted and TMRW and Tiger out in the cold. Checkmate.

  16. All the haters of LIV Golf have to realize that this entire debacle is over one thing: $$$

Along with the $$$ comes "control". He who has "control" cares not what the others want.

The PGA Tour had 100% control until LIV showed up. This has pissed the likes of Nicklaus beyond comprehension. I'm just glad the the PGA Tour doesn't have access to nuclear weapons.
