PGA tour golfer CONFESSES to CHEATING by CHANGING HIS SCORECARD in (very) doomed attempt…

This is one of the WEIRDEST stories I have heard in a long time! Pro golfer confesses to CHEATING by changing his scorecard in doomed attempt!!

This strange act by the professional golfer was all for one reason which you will find out in todays video. The whole story is madness and if I am being honest, this is one of the weirdest cheating stories on the PGA tour I have heard of in a LONG time.

Pro golfer Justin Doeden has admitted to cheating during the second round of the PGA Tour’s Commissionaires Ottawa Open last week. The cheating act was first reported by Ryan French of MondayQ and later confirmed by Doeden Monday on Twitter but I do sympathise with him in some aspects. But what actually happened? why did he do it, what has the reaction been and what will happen to Justin moving foward.

Pro golfer CONFESSES to CHEATING by changing his SCORECARD in doomed attempt…

Find out in todays breaking news story on back 9 films! We have heard a lot about cheating over the past 12 months, with the likes of Patrick Reed usually under the spotlight, Rory Mcilory was after the open 2023 caddie incident, and so many other stories, but have we ever heard a professional golfer admitting to it? This is a strange one. Justin Doeden has actually gone to twitter to admit to his cheating, which I think is very ballsy, fair play.

  1. I don't have the dollar amount, but missing the cut meaning not getting paid is BS and they should be guaranteed a few thousand. It shouldn't be enough to live off of, but $0 is BS.

  2. I'm not sure whether I am more shocked about what he did or that he actually thought he would get away with it?? Firstly its a pretty big professional tour, so there would be official scorekeepers. Second, your playing partner exactly knows your score especially if you are hovering around the cut line. I mean even if the officials dont pick it up, his playing partner would know the minute he sees him at the course the next day. Unless of course his playing partner also did not make the cut and wont be there the next day. He will look at the final results though and see his name under the weekend results. No way out of it.

Cheating is cheating but this is next level. Usually you would cheat in a way that gives you some form of advantage, ie marking the ball in a slightly different place, improving you lie, or god forbid "finding" a lost or watered ball (immediate stroke gained). At least with those you would have some comeback to defend yourself, claiming ignorance, accident or not checking your ball properly. Changing your score however from 7 to 5 has no excuse. If he scored a 10 and wrote down 9 yes maybe can argue you missed a shot.

  3. About half the member-guest tourneys I play in are won by the team with a guest who has a confirmed handicap of 9-15. That player posts 3 rounds in the low to mid 70s and his team wins. Upon investigation, his handicap is verified. However, a real investigation will discover that the player has 2 handicaps at 2 different courses. One for away tournaments and the other, the true handicap. This winner is usually a true 3-5 handicap that can play to that handicap on a different course.

  4. Are you kidding. There are no consequences today. No individual responsibility. When is the last time a player called a penalty on himself. Used to be fairly common. Not now. Worse the institutions in place to enforce what is right are so corrupt it’s appalling.

  5. Only 2 I’ve ever heard of was Reed in college and ball embed and building sand castles. The other was Vijay I believe in a tournament in Indonesia before his PGA tour. We play 4 days a week 24 guys mixing it up daily by handicap $10 in each either play individual quota team quota or best 2 scores per hole w handicap. If u cheat u r cheating your good friends! Playing w this group 17 yrs never even a hint or suspicion of cheating. In life your Name is all u got u lose that there’s not much left!

  6. Shot himself in foot, didn't miss. But look at Mcloroy he cheated but call him Teflon washed off.

  7. He admitted to the infraction which is admirable, but there are consequences…. I don't think he should be banned but closely monitored. He will have to earn the respect back for sure.

  8. This is just tragic, and it’s the result of “meritocracy”. You can make the tour, and still go broke…instead of there being a per diem for expenses for those who slam their trunks on Friday. You can say “. Well, just play better”, which is easier said than done…ask Ricki or Tiger.

  9. i think that giving out a big fine and making him pay that to the person he robbed of making the cut could be a good option. i know probably not harsh enough, but it is what it is

  10. Would he have owned up to this situation if no one caught it? If so, then props to him. The best punishment will come from his fellow playing partners. At least he owned up to the situation unlike some other golfers. I think his integrity is being questioned and that in its self might be punishment enough.

  11. No one cares about the costs of golf because everyone is on the same boat.

I could go on and on about cheating issues in golf at all level, where players should know about the values of the game well considering how talented they are at scoring. It’s a huge issue that is growing but everyone wants to obsess over 2-3 questionable but certainly not certain issues with Reed.

Forgiveness is very important. But forgiveness does not mean avoiding serious penalty.

But this is arguably the most shameless cheating ever.

This to me is tough not seeing a penalty well past a full year, 2 years sounds more reasonable.

He is owning up but he got caught. He didn’t just admit it out of nowhere. He got caught.

The reporter and whomever else caught this guy surely had a difficult time with this but that is the true honorable thing here. I’m so proud of my kid because she will not only play golf honestly, she will respectfully describe exactly how players shot a higher score. One time she literally explained at the scoring table how another player literally gave herself one less shot on every hole, which the player kept agreeing to. After 9 holes of scoring, the girl got up and left to a prestigious golf academy
There’s more stories like this than I can count at this point. I spend too much damn time at these brats’ events.

The point is we don’t want a bunch of childish accusations going around but having the ability to pay attention to the other players and having the courage to report what you see as a player is not something that is common. Most players turn the other way, and some would argue as a give and take that happens all too often sadly.

Golf needs to make sure all organizations involved in golf take the matter very seriously and communicate early and often to all players involved.

This is a critical issue for golf. Golf is both the easiest sport to cheat on and the sport which can least have cheating. Not a good combo.

  12. corruption in golf isn't a new thing… it's almost as bad as the fifa comity LOL!

    and yeah.

heaps of people cheat, i just don't seem to care, it's more about them than it is about the game and the other players, they should not be rewarded for it though, ya know. hahah!

  13. By cheating to make the cut,he was denying another golfer a place in the final couple of rounds. That golfer could be just as desperate for money as the one who cheated. We can all come up with excuses but he did this deliberately. The only sympathy I would have for someone who has cheated is where it is caused by ignorance of the rules, which can be complicated.
Sorry but he has to be banned for say 5 years as a deterrent otherwise once cheating starts, the integrity of the sport will be lost as others will start to cheat.

  14. I once caught someone dropping a ball n the rough during a club competition. I reported it and then one of the sponsors approached me and asked me to reconsider because the person who cheated was of such a high standing it would be embarrassing for the tournament. After that I played terrible and the cheat played really good. I have since decided to only worry about my game, if I see something odd I ignore it. 😢
