Charley Hoffman couldn’t contain his excitement after carding a 1 at Zurich Classic. Hoffman pulled a 23-degree hybrid for his shot against the wind on the 210-yard ninth hole during the third round on Saturday at TPC Louisiana. The ball shot directly in the direction of the flagstick, as the tracer indicated. The third ace of Hoffman’s career came after only one bounce and rolled into the hole with perfect speed. Hoffman raised his arms and let go of his club, and then he and Watney’s celebratory gestures crossed, resulting in their hilarious embarrassment as they gave each other half-high fives and half-chest bumps. A “kids don’t try this at home” warning was in order. Hoffman quickly got up and ran around, giving Watney a good mid-five before moving on to the caddies and other players.
