The Butterfly grip is a specialist grip that works amazingly out of bunkers and lob shots. It’s a very strong top hand grip and a very weak bottom hand grip. Holding the club this way stabilises the hands and allows your wrists to work correctly. It requires practice but when you get used to it you’ll be astonished at how much control you’ll have over the golf ball.

Wow Wow Wow. True Angular Momentum golf at it finish chip!
Just tried your butterfly grips in my basement using a rubber ball.
It is now my new go to grip for chipping around the greens.
It works because it quickly and automatically flexes and unflexes my trail wrist bringing my club directly and through my ball to my intended target.
Would never use this grip on my regular swing as it immediately bends the wrist too quickly and too much all at once; but on the chip I am loving it. Cheers 😃⛳️👍🥂
