The untimely passing of Pat Casey had a ripple effect through the world that couldn’t be avoided. News pieces, scumbag clickbait YouTube videos, graffiti on freeways in his honor, jams in both sides of the world, and a million instagram posts paying homage to the legacy Pat has left behind.
I was a friend of Pat—one of a few thousand—who happens to run a “news” outlet and I really struggled with what I should post and when. A few days after his passing, we began discussing doing a podcast that simply just pays respect to Pat. Who he was, what he did, how he lived. But, I just don’t think any of us were ready to be on camera yet. After two weeks, Kevin Peraza, Andy Buckworth, Dennis, and myself all decided that it was time to make it happen…
This was a difficult one and I’m not sure we did the best job with it. As soon as the cameras were off, it felt like all the emotions we were holding down just poured out. We spent another hour or so outside just sharing more stories of Pat and all the random memories of funny shit he did or had going on. It could’ve gone on for days… —Ryan

  1. Please, stop that trend of showing up your middle fingers into the camera. It's like "Fck you" instead of "Welcome".

  2. He made a world a better place that's for sure. thank you Pat. ty guys for doing this

  3. Thanks for this guys.
Remembering myself watching the Fise and all of your videos / contests from France and of all the power, dedication and respect that was coming from all of you was mindblowing.
Thanks for BMX, thanks for all, and RIP Pat.

  4. Thank you so much for this episode. I haven’t really processed the news since the shock of it wore off but this 2hr tribute to all his best qualities really nails what made Pat great.

Also thanks to everyone on this episode for being so honest and vulnerable. We have a history in bmx of always trying to be macho about everything but we are humans that have to experience sad and tragic things and it was great to hear pros talking openly and brutally honestly about it.

  5. this was so hard to watch i had to come back to it 4 times… it still doesnt feel real and only a handful of riders had that personality to back up their insane abilities but Pat could do it and was able to push outside of the BMX community that took him in and he repaid it in full and more. Its crazy how the best riders with that amazing spark are capable of pushing and making a name outside of BMX as a whole. Rest in peace Pat, we'll all ride on for you and will never forget you or your impact on BMX. <3

  6. If this doesn’t bring tears to you while listening to this, or If this doesn’t make you laugh or smile at all of the good times and people Pat has touched or inspired, then you don’t know what the true bmx community is about. Ride in paradise Pat

  7. Damn great episode Rip Pat. I have been putting this one off for a little but I couldn’t stop literally after starting it . I’d like to see a clip of him snapping his bars. Ride High up there Pat your a huge inspiration

  8. That was something special guys. Seeing 4 grown men crying for their friend is beautiful. Maybe a jam or comp for pat once a year where donations are taken for his family would be something to consider😊
Much love and respect for you guys. God bless

  9. Thank you Ryan, Dennis, Kevin & Andy. Loved hearing just a little bit more about the amazing person Pat Casey is. His legacy lives on ❤

  10. You guys should honestly set up episodes like this where you just talk about how awesome one specific rider is for the entire episode. They don't have to be there as that is awkward but everyone always says the best stuff about people after they are gone, should do it while they are still with us so they can hear all of these amazing things you say.

  11. Wow this is a non stop tear. But respect. Not alot of the bmx YouTube posers even talked about this. You guys are awesome for doing so. Now go ride harder then ever knowing you have a gardian angel now. ❤

  12. Glad I watched instead of just listing. Was wholesome and thanks for sharing all your good times with us.

  13. damn didnt know he passed away i remember seeing him compete at x games back in april or may, and come to find out he died on my bday. he's always been one of my favs, every competition i watch i always look to see if he's in it and look forward to seeing what he pulls off. he was extremely talented and a great person. RIP

  14. Really hope Xgames does a tribute special for Pat like they did for Mirra. Thanks for doing this guys. Loved hearing the party stories and session stories.

  15. Next years summer x games needs to be at the upgraded dream yard. I dont see it happening any other way

  16. Pat im blessed i git to meet pat and his family and his mom at his house & ride bmx with him

  17. Pat came to this world to inspire and make people happy. Unfortunately never met him, but will definitely miss him. Thank you so much ❤

  18. I never got any opportunity to meet Pat, I only saw all the riding he did, saw things about his house, his family, and the impact he seemed to make on BMX. I realized when he died that it was a big loss and I was so sad for his family and his kids loosing their dad. Having a 7 year old son myself, it hits so hard now seeing parents die. Seeing all the posts all over the internet and people talking about who he really was and how he lived his life made me realize that his loss was so much bigger than I had even realized at first, and also just what a gift is must have been to have known him. Pat seemed like one of the very best role-models a human could be in all aspects of life and I've realized that I want nothing more but to leave this earth being a person like him. I can only aspire to make a fraction of the impact on this world that he seemed to have made but I will absolutely use his legacy as an inspiration to myself and to those around me to be the very best people we can be. I wish I could have met him

  19. I have never cried so much over a “celebrity” death. I’ve never met Pat and I literally don’t know any of you guys but being a fan of him for so many years and Stack that on top of seeing the effect it has on his friends and family I don’t know why but this has hit me really hard personally I hope you guys find solace knowing that he loves you guys too
