I had forgotten how many misfires and mistakes the wings made in his first 13 years as a player. He has been thru more than one rebuild – many in fact. He is certainly capable of mistakes but he has seen and been hurt by so many as a player (and then saw what eventually working for the wings) that I wonder how much more valuable that experience was than the apprenticeship he had in Tampa.
