  1. Adam Scott had no choice, he has a major cut streak that is legit, he could not take any chances of missing a major ….. split the entire wad with the tour …. Give the PGA players that stayed all the same amount of money. If that is not enough for the elite then they should have not said NO !

  2. I agree with you if you were offered a contract with Liv and you turned it down, then you should not get any compensation you had your chance to accept, and you refused iti , therefore your problem tough titty mate . If you were not good enough to get an offer from Liv.
Bad luck play better. I wanted to be a pga tour player, but I wasn't somewhere else less good. Go and work for mcdonalds see if they give you compensation.

  3. Very interesting discussion. MONEY, YES. MONEY, YES. MONEY YES!!!

Who is happiest right now? The LIV Players. Why? Because they now know that LIV has a future, the premium players ALREADY got more MONEY on CONTRACTS, they play fewer tournaments, AND, they can win more boatloads of MONEY every time they play, AND they are having more fun with everything surrounding the team concept including Team MONEY!

Why are the PGAT players so unhappy? Because they didn't take the flyer and join LIV, didn't get the MONEY, got diddled by their leadership, divided the PGAT into haves and have-nots, force top players to work like Trojans, and, still have no contracts and financial security like the LIV players.

BTW, nobody mentions the caddies in all this. Last week Cam Smith's caddie got $400,00 + $35,000 for his work. The caddie for the guy who came in last got $12,000. Do you think these caddies are happier? Cam's caddie sure looked happier up there on the podium with Cam.

If the merger doesn't happen then I think more of the top players will JUMP at the chance to join LIV!

  4. You see, Rahm is a good player. He would be wanted by Liv, but he said no. Hei S not expecting compensation, but the strugglers in 75th place in the order of merit wants compensation because he's is not talented enough. Get the PGA Pension fund if they will give it to you.. it should depend on your last 10 Order of Merit standing, average.

  5. Guys , I understand what you are saying but let's be real. The only players that will be compensated will be the top players in the PGA Tour that would of made liv money if they jumped ship. They will not compensate a player that is scrambling on the PGA cause they were never asked to go to liv. What you are forgetting is that liv wanted the best so they couod get the crowds in to watch. Yes they don't need it but think about it , if Tiger and Rory did go to live with a few others , Garcia would of never been asked to go. What you are all forgetting is that liv only wanted a small amount, like 40 players I believe but could be wrong. Anyways that's my take of it.
BTW…not a fan of Garcia lol

  6. In my opinion, compensation for under achieving PGA players is ludicrous. If a pool of college graduates was made available for a company to select from to make attractive offers of employment, should those not offered positions be compensated? Of course not, they would have to seek employment elsewhere or remain with their present employers. To compensate would be a reward for failure to achieve and gain recognition rather than achievement and performance. BTW, who do you think should compensate those players? The PGA because they should have been paying them for participating or the PIF to punish them for not offering them contracts? Perhaps the top PGA players should share the wealth and establish a fund to help those players in need.

  7. To be fair, Rory CHOSE to do what he did. He chose to get up and say those words. He’s one of the best golfers in the world, what are the PGA going to do if he says ‘no, I will just say no comment’…. Stop him from playing? No. He could’ve just keep playing quietly, and winning his millions. Zero reason to be compensated.

This is all been about business. Players offered more money to go play for another team. Quite simple really. And because the PGA tour is actually run by blood money that no one hears about, they wanted to keep their monopoly and OGWR is now irrelevant.

If the LIV league were offered OGWR points in the first place, it probably would’ve cost the PGA a whole lot less

  8. Those that refused did so for their own reasons the PGA should make donations to their charity funds The less known players struggling to hold their cards should be compensated

  9. its eat your cake and have it too.. sheeesh… crybaby's who blocked for the pga get squat…

  10. Let’s just remember that not every player was invited to join LIV. Why should these lower level pros be compensated when they were never even invited. Frankly, no body deserves compensation for anything. The people who were offered the LIV opportunity and said no, made a decision and they have to live with that decision. Those who weren’t offered a LIV contract have nothing to be compensated for – in fact many of them would not even have cards on the PGA if all of the LIV players hadn’t left, so they’ve already benefited.
As I’ve said in previous posts, the real problem here was the complete hypocrisy of the PGA in mounting the “dirty Saudi money” defence against LIV in the first place. Every PGA “loyalist” basically backed the wrong horse and many look like fools now for doing so.

  11. The only reason the pga tour would openly entertain the ridiculous idea of giving people money for nothing is that in reality they manipulated the players into doing nothing. But non the less imo without a lawsuit, it makes no sense to give people money for nothing. I’m tired that conversation even continues to come up. Call me when Yassir starts writing checks to the guys whom started calling him names. I just don’t see that.

And yes guys are coming back but not as a reward for them but because that’s what the sport needs and wants.

The real reward for the top pga tour guys is that they will start to be on the Liv tour more and more as it continues to evolve into a world championship tour.

Everybody wins here. But this nonsense of giving money for nothing As Alex says is another can of worms. But we know the pga tour likes to open those cans lately.

The real issue the players need to focus on the pga tour side is their leadership. Rahm said some oddly nice things but we all know there are some serious issues there. I mean think about going into a tough negotiation where you pretty much know you cannot trust your reps word. That’s crazy.

The players need to know the more they are given money for nothing, the more likely they are being duped; they would basically be getting bought. Which is why Rahm does come off extremely likeable with his reasonable take that he doesn’t deserve anything for doing nothing. He may still be a baby in the course sometimes, but he is acting like a real man.

As far as players whom got zero interest from LIv, that’s even more of a non issue.

  12. When people take the risk, they get the rewards and accept the consequences. Too bad to the guy that stayed. The PGA tour took the wrong position because of Jay Monaghan
Unfortunately, that opportunity is gone, but there will be more money in the sport so overall people benefit but if you’re looking for compensation for not joining LIV , I think it’s a weak argument . So I agree with Jon Rahm. 😊

  13. Think of it like a business deal if u was offered a chance to buy into a start up business, not knowing if it would work and you said no you are not entitled to take a cut of the profit after the business is successful

  14. If you said no, you should not get any money and not be compensated whatsoever and if you were compensated, you should be paying all the live golfers, half the money back for having them leave so you can get the money
