Fantastic strategy! This is how I play a low handicap with a very average ‘work in progress’ of a swing😂. Ironically, because of the lack of stress, my short game is better. Granted, when the short game is ‘off’, it is tough but you still remove doubles and OB and the score is passable. Conversely, when you’re ‘on it’ you can take on calculated risk, knowing that you have a solid base to fall back on. Ironically, this ‘piece of mind’ seems to make me hit it better and so the good stuff compounds in an un-forced way. May not work for lower handicaps but can keep you comfortably in the mid singles if you keep your short game half-decent.

Par 3s are tough holes, at least for me. If I get a par, I walk off happy as a lark. If I get a birdie, I consider that a luxury and if I get a bogie, it’s what I was expecting. Cheers.
I think I hit a hybrid both times I have played this hole, guess what …….Bunker. It's a tough bunker and a big sloppy green….walked off with a 5. I think Stu has a point!!
