I’ve been saying it since Ohtani’s first season; we need a separate MVP-type award. Someone that really contributes to a team winning games and then just an individual performer.
There are the traditional MVPs that deserve the votes and award but then how do you award Shohei? And if he’s just way better than anyone else, because of his two-way status, does he get the award over and over again or do we need a new way to award individuals and players who contribute to a winning team more than anyone else?
