CLEAR WINNER!! TaylorMade Stealth2 vs Titleist TSR2

#golf #comment #subscribe

I compare two of the big driver brands head to head, the Titleist TSR 2 Driver against the carbon wood of the TaylorMade Stealth 2 Driver. Both golf clubs claim forgiveness and fast ball speeds so we test this along with dispersion, backspin and efficiency etc.

  1. I’m keen to know if the Stealth 2 is more forgiving than the Stealth. I’ve not been totally comfortable with the Stealth. I blame the pilot, most range sessions I hit it well – on the course it’s a real mixed bag, but it seems like you only have to be slightly off to get poor results. So much choice in new drivers this year, I really can’t decide what to test 🤔

  2. This was an intersting comparison. Latest tech with the Stealth 2 vs standard / traditional looking Titleist. Titleist wins. A teaching pro told me the Ts line of drivers are the best out there at the moment.

  3. Switched to the TSR2 from many years of different Ping Drivers no matter what else was in the bag, and for me while the Pings have always been fairway finders the TSR just flat out performed the Ping with the same amount of forgiveness but much more manageable spin numbers…tried several different at my fitting (Rogue, Stealth, Cobra, and Tour Exotics) but as far as a "Total Package" nothing compared to the TSR2 for me!

  4. Get the spin rates the same. This doesn't make sense having a comparison when the spin rates aren't even within a few hundred rpms.

  5. I have TSR3 and it is a bomber. I hope Titleist never goes Carbon route becaust the TSR3 is the purest most consistent feeling driver I have ever played. Titleist all day. I used to play Taylormade M1 2017.

  6. Great test. Titleist wins the day again. It’s a great driver and very forgiving as well. I love it. It is also a low spinning driver in my opinion

  7. No TM stealth for me – face epoxy issues! stick with the sim2 driver. always thought Titliest were a tad snobby as where i live you can't get a online pricing on any of their gear – you have to get a email quote. They also rarely have specials unless new gear is being released. Mind you ping are the same with their clubs.

  8. Would be interesting to see someone like me, 8 handicap, do the same test. To see if someone who isn’t as consistent a ball striker as you, gets comparable results.

  9. I got the TSR2 driver for the same reason. It helped reduce my spin more so than other clubs, but also the best in off center hits. The runners up where the Stealth 2 and Aerojet.

  10. The tsr strikes are toey so you are going to have lower spin and a higher smash…. I know you aren’t manipulating the test but maybe you should do a video on how you can manipulate a test. I can make a club look better based on ball strikes. Prove it by swinging 3 mph more and heel and center striking low to increase spin then sell a lousy driver bc of a slight toe hit.

  11. TSR2 is the best, most forgiving driver I’ve ever had. High smash factor literally all across the face. TSR3 I have tried but just doesn’t work for me, noticeably less forgiving on off centre hits.

  12. Hey Michael I have been in the market for a new driver and I would really love to see a video comparison of Stock 9 loft vs 10.5 loft then 9 turned to 10.5 vs 10.5 turned to 9. Specifically if you would consider showing this with the g430 that would be really awesome. I can't seem to find a video comparing this.

  13. Had my TSR2 in the bag for a few months and absolutely love hitting drives with it. Tour AD shaft makes a big difference too.

  14. Just put the TSR2 in the bag (11 degree loft – 55g Mitsubishi stock shaft) and it is pretty darned good. Indeed, love the forgiveness. Thanks for your comparison, Michael.

  15. Last 10 years I’ve played ping drivers simply for the forgiveness which is second to none but playing tsr2 this year as ball speed is impressive and lost nothing in terms of forgiveness

  16. Why everybody don't like the Stealth 2.? I just bought the Stealth 2 over TSr2. Why?? Well because I thought it looked beautiful. Don't get me wrong, TSr2 looks good too but I ultimately chose the Stealth2.

  17. I tested both & whilst I hit them both well, the TSR2 Driver won the battle for me. 1st change away from TaylorMade drivers for me & can’t be happier

  18. Tried them both with the same shaft and i had better results with the stealth 2. I could hit it 7 yards further on average and my grouping was better.

  19. I did a driver fitting and it came down to these two. Virtually identical with specs but I chose the Tsr2 because I drive it 7 more yards and honestly, I like the classic black look of the Titleist.

  20. you might as well just go ahead and put that titleist driver in your bag Mikey. you hit bombs with it every video.

  21. I’ve been a TaylorMade guy my whole life, I walked in to the golf store to buy a sim 2 max or stealth. Bought the sim 2 max returned it the next day to get the stealth. I decided to at least try a TSI2 vs the stealth on the simulator but had my heart still set on the stealth. I left that day with the TSI2…

  22. Great review. I just went TS2. I picked it up on a whim the other day. Shot feel like butter.
