De Vries PISSED at Red Bull!

Nyck De Vries’ shock sacking by Alpha Tauri has really shook things up across the grid. Rumours about replacements for Sergio Perez are now growing as Daniel Ricciardo’s appointment is seen as a threat to the Mexican. But has anyone taken a moment to think about poor Nycky? After years standing at Toto Wolff’s shoulder, waiting for his shot, he’s been sacked after just ten races. Is Alpha Tauri right to get rid of him? Today we’ll look at the reasons behind his dismissal and what he plans to do to get back racing as soon as possible. Let’s get started.

  1. Why do you show a 1940 issue of the Friesch Dagblad ??? It announces the attack of the Germans in WW2. It could be offensive to some Dutch viewers. WW2 has nothing to do with Nick de Vries nor with Formula 1.
The referral to the Telegraaf is correct though.

  2. I don't think AT have a fighting chance at winning much of anything, but I think with Ricardo as Yuki's teammate, it'll help motivate Yuki to preform better.
but who knows. The FIA ruins all things F1, so there's that.

  3. Well if Ricardo can get back into f1 im sure Nick will get Toto to help him get a seat in Hass or Williams or even bottace Team in a few years

  4. I really cant understand why somebody is a fan of Red Bull. In my opinion the are destroying rookies. I really think its bad for the sport to just discard drivers after 10 reces.

  5. Alpha tauri is just a way to bad car to make assumptions of their rookie driver IMO

  6. like others have said,,,,,dan was sent to alpha to get ready to replace perez,,,,,,if perez does not improve,,,,,or maybe perez is already out at the end of the season….

  7. to be honest,,,,,,i think redbull is'nt crazy about perez anymore,,,,i think he's gone at the end of the season

  8. I would say there is more to the story than they are letting on. Lot of politics at this level. Nick did something to lose the job outside of wrecking and not driving as fast as they expected. None of them have not wrecked a car and all of them have had slow days driving. It’s his first year and he’s got a large learning curve. I think there is more to it than his performance, especially this early in the season.

  9. Red Bull is the type you carry your weight, podiums and points, or you are dead weight. If the driver does not meet their expectations, they get sacked. See Gasley and Albon for examples.

  10. For de Vries, I hope daniel will not outperform Yuki or get any points. for Ricciardo however I hope he will outperform Yuki. that will also put extra pressure on Perez. where RedBull can choose between 3 drivers who to put next to Max

  11. They swapped 6 by ½ dozen. Ricardo is not at the level they are expecting. Just look his miserable last season in Maclaren.

  12. 4:07 I disagree. The number of very good drivers that RBR has thrown away is ridiculous and that’s just regarding the drivers on the grid that are currently racing for other teams.

  13. With Marko as a hard liner, what the sport needs is a Nicki Lauda, professional with class and the acumen to vocalize clearly. When Marko does it, he comes on like the bully. We need professionalism and suave diplomacy and respect to the drivers, diologue and not alley conversations! It is the 22nd century, nest pas?
    Smitty Dawson

  14. Red Bull has always been quick to pull the plug on drivers if they don’t perform well & Nick has been terrible. Probably regretting ditching Alpine like he did.

  15. The Red Bull driver program is a pressure cooker, Nyck knew this and signed with them instead of Williams where he would have probably gotten 2 seasons regardless. It’s sad, but Nyck made his choices.

  16. The entire situation is absurd and typical of Red Bull. As much as I dislike Max you can't deny that below all the moaning and bullshit there is talent and a lot more than any other driver under the Red Bull umbrella. The problem is every other driver Red Bull have is compared to Max. There is no comparison there. He is just better than them.

The Alpha Tauri car isn't exactly one of the strongest cars on the grid and as Ricciardo has proven at both Renault and McLaren, he can't perform in a sub-standard car. 7 of his wins came in a strong Red Bull car and the other was only through sheer luck at McLaren. He isn't a great driver and when the pressure mounts he runs, this is why he left both Red Bull and Renault. He is overrated and has a massive ego that his perfomances in F1 don't support (8 wins, especially when 7 were in a dominant Red Bull is not exactly brilliant) and he deserved to lose his place at McLaren. This is obvously a move to push Checo to perfom in the Red Bull, but Ricciardo has proven once before that he couldn't really compete with a rookie Max Verstappen so he has absolutely no chance at all of competing with 2x WDC Max Verstappen, wo why would Red Bull push this. It literally makes no sense at all. There really is no winner here, just another victim of the Helmets ruthlessness and his constant stupidity of comparing drivers to Max.

  17. Alpha Tauri don’t even have a good car to begin with. As much as I like Daniel, but I don’t think he’ll do any better with that shitbox. RB is gonna ruin Daniel’s career even further

  18. The moment he didn't openly admid he made the mistakes and blaming everything else was the moment he was gone. He is a weak person. Nobody likes that in f1. It's a mens game. Nothing for schoolboys.

  19. WTEverlovingF? 6:15 shows a copy of the "Friesch Dagblad" with the headline that German troops have crossed the border of the Netherlands! Some poor misguided Brexit-voting soul finding a bizarre outlet for their anti-German feelings?

  20. I think red bull did not make a mistake in sacking de Vries. If Ricardo is te right man for the job I also doubt that. I think Charles Leclerc would do really well at red bull. Although he might class with Max.

  21. 6:15 The newspaper clipping is from May 10, 1940. It is about Germany invading the Netherlands. How did that get here?

  22. As an Australian and a DR fan, i hope he goes to Red Bull next year and Perez drops back to Alpha Tauri with Yuki or Liam.

  23. Helmut Marko does not know F1 drivers. He's just toxic because he thinks that it's the way a high executive should act. That' the end of his intelligence. To think he has to be toxic to be respected. Old world perception and I cannot wait for it to die off from this world and F1 alike.

  24. The only true way to judge any driver on the grid, is give them all 20 laps in Max’s car, and then look at the times. Could the bottom ten drivers win in Max’s car? Maybe. Could Max win in a Hass or Alfa Romeo or Alpine or Williams? Doubtful.
