  1. What a gent Paul is, even when losing he holds himself so well. Couldn't believe how well he played tee to green, just putting letting him down. I think we can all relate to those rounds and count how many shots should've dropped or those unlucky bounces. Fingers crossed for next year

  2. Respect to Paul for hanging in there when the putting just wasn't there. On a bright note, after 3 days hanging at even par for the Women's US Open, Charley Hull caught fire on the final round to card the low round of the day and get to a T2 finish! Paul, you can do this. You're an amazing golfer who just didn't have all elements hitting on the same day. Next year!

  3. Anyone who gets to FQ is a proper player! Like Dan says, the stars have to align and one day they will!

  4. Paul clearly has a lot of ability so please take my comments kindly as they are offered as advice from a club builder and putter fitter for many years. Just from your footage I would say his putter is too short and his forward press is extreme. I can't be the only one seeing that? Again Paul has great qualities in his game, this is a genuine comment that will hopefully help him.

  5. Well done Paul. Feel for you as we saw you try your hardest. A really tough course. Sometimes the putts just don’t drop. So many finished on the edge. Thanks for letting us share your experience.

  6. to paul .if i may nakeva comment on the swing driving seemed good generally butni get the feeling with the irons they are not sharp enough or piercing in tonthe greens .maybe you might think.onbthat and work with someone to get a little shorter backswing but more attacking and piercing trajectory . i did teach golfvwhen ibwas much younger . only a thought especially on seaside courses .hope you didnt mind mevsaying lovely video

  7. That's not a golf course that's a battlefield! All it's missing is someone shooting at you! Great effort, in the the words of Padraig Harrington there is always next week!

  8. Great attitude by Paul, not easy to keep the game together when the putting let you down 👍🏻🇦🇺

  9. Blame the caddy😂😂😂 seriously Paul, all us golfers know that some days it just does not work for you. You could have knocked about a half dozen shots off if the lip outs went in. Well done for getting the opportunity and look forward to seeing you get another opportunity next year. Anyway come on Cam Smith. He is a Wantima boy where I play.

  10. He did well to stay calm, I think my putter may have been broken at some point!! Was this the same putter that won him the PGA title, it really wasn't his friend on this day!

  11. Nice video, looked a tough course, tricky greens, good effort. I once played in a Plymouth Sound match against Tavi, the Ruths were playing, can't remember the result, happy days though.

  12. Such a shame Paul, but don’t beat yourself up and you just need to say it was one of those days. We’ve all had them where your burning edges all day but nothing drops, which means your birdie chances become pats and your pars saves become bogies. It really beats you up, but you’re a amazing player and there’s always next year? 👍⛳️❤️

  13. Paul has such a wonderful game, but his putting has always prevented him from getting to that next level. Still, I never saw it as bad as it was in this video. He needs to lose that putter pronto, and replace it with ANYTHING else. And he needs to completely reinvent his putting stroke. It's badly broken, and needs a complete overhaul. Surely, Dan can help find a good teacher. It would make for an excellent set of videos ! Paul has all the rest of the game to crack The Open !

  14. I thought you swung the club really well, but obv. the putting was poor. Having played many links courses myself, reading the greens can be a bit of a mystery at the best of times, although we all love the challenge. One thing that did stick out for me though, particularly in the first round was the way your putting stroke decended onto the back of the ball through impact. It looks as though you lifted the putter up rather than the low and slow take away that I was always taught. Also the lie of the putter looks way off. It should be fairly flat against the ground and yours is tilted quite severly from back to front, which must mean a decending blow is inevitable. Comments not meant as a critacism in any way, purely observations from previous personal experience. And no I'm not a pro or a teacher, just a keen observer of high quality golf. Best of luck next year.

  15. Just a less than perfect day just shows have golf is difficult even for good golfers. A question fir Paul was your back playing up that day, on a couple of clips of irons into the green swing did not look as smooth as usual. Best wishes
