In this episode of Bro Labs, I do an experiment where I test my heart rate while I am in extreme pain. Since pain is known to increase a persons heart rate, the goal of this experiment is to find out if it’s possible to control your heart rate despite experiencing pain.

    you know the pepper spray got him good this time, it's the worst i had seen him freak out like that and they cut that scene short (unlike the other times he had been pepper sprayed). it sounded and looked so painful. hopefully the youtube thing turns around.

    If you can control your breathing, you can limit the effect of pain on your heart rate. It was all nice slow deep breathes, except for the pepper spray and baby simulator.

    If you have a heart rate monitor, just hold your breath for a bit and you'll watch the bpm drop.

    I can watch the majority of this stuff but the scooter/shin ones are just unviewable for me. I always have to skip the shin stuff. You’re a beast and it’s wild to watch the nerves leave when the data finally happens and your heart rate drop.
