Padraig Harrington plays the BRAND NEW 17TH HOLE | The 151st Open at Royal Liverpool

Padraig Harrington plays the brand new 17th Hole at Royal Liverpool for the very first time.

At just 140 or so yards, ‘Little Eye’, Hoylake’s newest hole, is a simply stunning creation, with an infinity green on a par-3 that plays directly out towards the ocean and Wales, which is just a few miles away.

  1. I've watched a dozen people play this hole and they all go to the right and most end up in that deep trap. Got to hit it in the middle of the green no matter where the pin is. Geesh.

  2. Great 3rd there Padraig! Beautifully played. If it's dry and windy, that hole might be hard to birdie! ❤😂

  3. Nothing but respect to Paddy. He’s an intelligent observer of the game who puts a lot back. I hope he goes well this year

  4. Yeah I don't think its fair to the golf course to scope it out with all the Hi tech out there o well the games a foot as they say Paddy I'm Irish too u got to get a gophers eye view how u gona read a putt

  5. Just a quick point , I would like to have seen Pro Tracer line on the tee shot.
Otherwise , a nice review of a hole which could be a card wrecker at a key time in the Open championship.

  6. Great insight Padriag. Perhaps you could review each hole in the same way, your insights are really interesting. Many thanks.

  7. if you don't make an Ace the first time you play a par 3 you can never make a real hole in one on it.

  8. This hole is what we call a separation hole so you're going to have a lots of pars and there's going to be lots of fours so this hole will be a one-stroke swing.

  9. Wouldn't it be great to see Paddy and Bernard playing together on the last day leading the field. A couple of senior players showing the young whipper snappers, how to play.

  10. Padraig is my favourite ever golfer. I love how pro golfers can also play the perfect duff to show what’ll happen if players play a bad shot.
