Chris Davis once upon a time was one of baseball’s best power hitters. A 6 foot 4, left handed hitting first baseman who could hit moonshots, but also produced strikeout numbers that made you wonder if it was all really worth it. Over time, he earned the nickname Crush for his tape measure shots, many of which landed on or close to Eutaw street, the area directly in front of Baltimore’s B&O Warehouse. Davis was one of the most popular players for the O’s, and at one point the team hosted a giveaway night featuring him as a superhero, next to his dog sidekick, Samson. Off the field, Davis is an extremely generous and charitable guy who has been involved with the University of Maryland Children’s Hospital. He and his wife Jill have made it a priority to visit and contribute financially. We’ll delve into this later on.

this was a very positive video (even talking about the hard times he went thru) getting the letter from the red sox fan gave him the confidence he needed at that moment that kid with the W move. You would think an ultimate collapse would have a bad ending but not this one. I believe he found his true calling and thats jus helping others who are less fortunate have more. Great video!! I'm a Jays fan and they were linked to sign him and I wasn't feeling it. Having said that… What a great stand up guy with his charity work. I think overall the sports world ignores what athletes do for charities and communities as a whole. I'm now a Davis fan!!

I'm from about 40 minutes away from the stadium and was born in Baltimore(at Sinai if anyone local is curious.) As a lifelong fan who drifts in and out of paying attention to the orioles, it really makes me sad that people will remember Davis for his historic run of astronomically bad luck.
He is an extremely nice guy as far as I can tell, very charitable and was not really a typical "top of the world" type that made you feel vindicated in watching him experience the lows as well. I will have good memories of him for a long time, and hope he continues to be a fixture in charities wherever he lives. As a very Christian man he hopefully will strive to exemplify those values since he has all the means to fulfill them.

Thank you for making this, seriously. I’m a lifelong Orioles fan Davis is a heluva guy and very genuine. Just unfortunate that he couldn’t put those last few seasons together. But he’s set for life now! He deserves it.

As someone who also struggles with ADHD, I feel his pain. It's so much more than just forgetting things easily. I could list everything we struggle with, but I'd be here all night doing that. The one thing we are able to do is hyper focus on something. When we can do that, we can literally accomplish whatever we set our minds to (just look at Davis crushing any pitch for an example). The downfall is we can't control how long we can focus on something, so we aren't consistent with it. Great video!

I know most people will remember him for falling off a cliff after signing that monstrous contract. I'll remember him for being traded along with Tommy Hunter for Koji Uehara and leading the league twice in home runs.
