The USGA is a nonprofit organization that celebrates, serves and advances the game of golf. Founded in 1894, we conduct many of golf’s premier professional and amateur championships, including the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open. With The R&A, we govern the sport via a global set of playing, equipment, handicapping and amateur status rules. The USGA campus in Liberty Corner, New Jersey, is home to the Association’s Research and Test Center, where science and innovation are fueling a healthy and sustainable game for the future. The campus is also home to the USGA Golf Museum, where we honor the game by curating the world’s most comprehensive archive of golf artifacts. To learn more, visit https://www.usga.org.

She won 5 tournaments she was all hyped up but no stay.
She would NEVER encourage her daughter to play professional sports with the opposite sex. It was a mistake I'm sure she lives with EVERYDAY.
Thank you, Michelle. You've been a gift to the game.
Dang she’s tall
Golf is a crazy game, there is no equation like if you have this much talent and you work your butt off this much then you will reap this much reward. No, you have to cherish anything you get out of golf, nothing is guaranteed. Wie has faced so much criticism, more than anyone else since she was 11 years old. She was bold in chasing her goals, but she committed no crimes. In the video it was said she won the US Open and they can never take that away from her. Michelle graduated from Stanford University, got married and had a baby girl in 2020. And she won the friggen US OPEN!! Golf is a crazy game, maybe just maybe, the golf gods will smile on Michelle and Annika this week and something magical will happen this week.
Rickie wut?
Haven't read the stuff and hope it's not a redundant thing. Michelle Wie was a 14 year old girl and somehow was a pga men's tour participant in a tournament in Hawaii. Michelle missed the 36 hole cut by one "1" stroke. Don't think I've ever witnessed something that astonishing in the sports world. Thank you Michelle for your efforts to bring the greatest game there ever was to as many as possible.
I can’t believe she’s retiring at 33.
Goodness, I was tearing up myself watching her watch that. :). That was really sweet. I so look forward to watching her this week (and Annika too), and all I can do after that is just wish her the best in life.
She is amazing
Love watching womens golf. Skirts. Went to an event once, it was a sunday and she missed that cut. Didnt get to see live. Still a great experience, and on a course ive played.
The expectations put on her were incredibly unfair. I remember her being compared to tiger for God's sakes. That's simply not fair and the main reason is because she's a woman. Women are fundamentally different in so many ways so it's really an apples to oranges thing. The truth is that with all the hype surrounding her starting out, she turned out more like ty Tryon, if anyone remembers him. You probably don't because when overhyped men fail, people forget about them and they're labeled as failures. Ty could probably still beat her in golf in the retired rusty state he's in today beer gut and all. I'm not saying this to be mean but only to be honest and address all the nonsense going on in today's world. I'm glad to see Michelle pursue motherhood and being a good wife. I'm glad she's realizing a higher purpose in her life.
The goat!
Wait….
A very young amateur girl competing with the best male golfers in the world was very bold. Most of the golfing world still remember rooting for Michelle to make a PGA cut. A girl ripping bombs 280 yards was epic. The US Open victory may have been her crowning achievement, but a girl barnstorming the PGA Tour, European and Asian Tours is at least, if not more, memorable for the golf fans.
Wie did qualify for an event on the men's Asian Tour, following Se Ri Pak's lead. Seventy some years ago the great Olympian, Babe Zaharias paved the way by becoming the first women to compete on the PGA Tour, successfully making the cut in two of three attempts, and to this day remains the only woman to do so. In fact, no other female even tried competing on the PGA Tour until some sixty years later when Annika Sörenstam, Michelle Wie, Suzy Whaley, and Brittany Lincicome all tried. Who will be the next Bold lucky lady to qualify for the weekend at a PGA Tour event?
So bloody well deserved
Michelle had so much potential. She should have been the greatest LPGA champion of all time. But her family mismanaged her talent. Having her compete against men destroyed her confidence, and the relentless media scrutiny and pressure was a huge distraction she couldn't overcome. Instead, she should have been beating girls her own age, learning how to win at every level, learning how to finish on Sunday what you started on Saturday at Junior golf events. That's what Tiger did. Win at every level. A shame to see such a great talent go unfulfilled, but its a lesson. An early start can be runious. Stay patient.
I though she retired like 5 years ago
The greatest female golfer that never was….way too much hype. She and her parents really oughta be a bit embarrassed. I can name 10 – 15 genuine Korean ladies who have left a way more important impact on women's golf than Michelle Wie.
