  1. I would love to have sand like you have in your video instead I play inexpensive courses in the desert of Arizona with something on the order of crushed granite in the traps. There is huge learning curve playing here and you never see anyone demonstrating how to hit a ball off what amounts to concrete. Help!

  2. Finally, someone that teaches and doesn't make the video about themselves like so many others out there.

  3. I once holed out with the sand. I don't know where the ball went but the sand went in the hole.

  4. Makes a lot of sense to treat the ball as a grain of sand. My small question is: should the leading edge of the club be used to take out sand or should the sole be used.

  5. Nothing helped my bunker play like this has. I was lucky to get a decent bunker shot 25% of the time before this video. After watching this I have played 2 rounds and been in bunkers maybe 8 times and gotten out quite nicely every single time. I hope it sticks.

  6. Bunkers cost me 2 or 3 shots a round. I just cannot focus on the sand. I cannot ignore the ball. Its usually more luck than technique if i get out.

  7. When a course has really heavy sand, I have had some success by using the “fried egg” Technique. It at least will get you out. For long shots out of heavy sand, I have tried a wedge with less bounce with some success. The reality is that if you want nice soft sand, you must play expensive courses. Yes it sucks!😅

  8. Love to see you do it out of a UK bunker soaking wet with half inch of sand in, immediately the club bounces straight back up

  9. I visualize a swatch of sand like my cupped left hand, with the ball in the middle, and I splash the sand out from under the ball.

  10. Why are all these guys from the uk? Why don’t they show how to hit out of hard packed dirt or desert because those are the kind of bunkers I play out of

  11. I’d be a great bunker player if we actually had sand in our bunkers. I prefer to call them traps and try to avoid them completely.

  12. Question: what if we practice and rehearse the same thing with iron shots on the grass? Will it prevail?

  13. Thanks!! I watched another video this morning. The closest sand was a volleyball court. Took my 56 and 60 degree wedges. As you mentioned I did EVERYTHING: weight forward, acceleration, etc. wasted an hour of my life!!! Maybe I should go back to bowling for low scores?? 😮

  14. My dad told me decades ago, imagine the ball is the yolk of a fried egg, try and get the whole fried egg out in one scoop! That's basically this. Cheers dad. p.s., it works.

  15. My dear you dont do it deep you will get a direct connection with the ball and the ball will go miles out of the green. When the sand is hard packed it becomes even more difficult

  16. Brillant !
How do you evaluate the distance ?
Have you a method for this issue ?
Thanks for your very useful videos

  17. If I was to pay $125 for 1hr lesson to learn how to hit bunker shots and this is what I was told I would be pretty mad.

  18. I'm a senior golfer with an eight handicap ,, our par 71 golf course has in excess of 70 bunkers. I've never been a really bad bunker player but not great either. Yesterday I worked on ignoring the ball and focusing on getting the sand behind the ball onto the green. I was in five bunkers during my round I got up and down four out of five.
Best tip I've ever had on bunker play ,,, I have a new confidence, thanks Alex !!

  19. If the sand is wet or heavy, play the ball more in the middle of the stance which will lessen the amount of sand you take, and ease up a bit on the swing so you don’t blast it a mile as you pick it up cleaner.
