Nike Air Max 90G Golf Shoes Review #nikegolf #breaking90golf #golfmates

Look Good, Play Good – Nike Air Max 90G

Possibly the best looking golf trainers on the market, but are the Nike Air Max 90G trainers any good?

I’ll will be reviewing and scoring the shoes in 5 areas
Looks / Style
Features
Comfort / Fit
Price
Overall

1. Looks / Style
As you probably guessed from the intro, I really like these trainers. The colours are great, and the style fits anywhere (especially on course) they work great with shorts and even the modern style jogger pants. If you’re not a fan of the green/turquoise colour scheme there are lots of other combinations available.Score – 5/5

2. Features
Apart from looking awesome, they also have some pretty cool features.

The air bubble, synonymous with Nike trainers for the past 1000 years. It’s not just for looks it also helps provide good comfort for the heel and back of the foot.

I’m not sure if the trainers are advertised as being waterproof but I’ve spent more than my fair share of early mornings looking for my ball in the dew covered rough without getting wet socks.

I’ve not had any issues with grip, I’ve played in all conditions and I’m not sure I’ve slipped at all. There was one drive on a terrible tee box where I did slip a bit, but that was about it.

Another benefit of the style is that you can wear them to the pub or shops without looking out of place.Score – 4/5 – Waterproofing would make them a 5

3. Comfort / Fit
I’ve played in these trainers pretty much every weekend since March now, and for 99% of the rounds I haven’t had any issues with comfort or fit. I had one round where there was lots of walking between holes and I was wearing trainer socks, I got a blister on each ankle (nothing too extreme)

Fit wise I just bought the same size as I normally wear in Nike trainers, no issues at all.

Score – 5/5

4. Price
I got these as a bargain from eBay, didn’t expect them to win them but I got lucky.

Most stores sell them for around £100, they RRP is around £125. A bit expensive for some golf trainers, but a lot of trainers retail for around this price. Casual looking golf shoes tend to sell for a bit less than the performance focused shoes.
Adidas have just released golf versions of their classic trainers, these are priced around £90, not had chance to try these yet.Score – 3.5/5

5. Overall
These trainers are great; brilliant grip, comfort and waterproof – Everything a golfer needs, and they look great in the bar after shooting 89.
Total Score – 4.5/5
