Given the fact that this is a Glazer window Onana, Amrabat, Mount and Hojlund would be a solid window.
United should sign Mitrovic from Fulham. He is strong and he will give you plus 20 goals.
They don't build up with wide fullback's anymore… the fullback's invert more now giving Casimero closer options… and narrowing the oppositions forward line then also giving the direct ball to the wingers… The acquisition of a ball playing Goalkeeper will give 335 build up alot more options rather than dropping a midfield and being out numbered upfront…
So we should forget getting a striker???

With regards to transfers in attack, united would need a goal scoring and playmaking striker in kane and a young, fast, strong striker in hojlund, ideally speaking.
I believe sancho should start though as he's as a playmaking winger like beckham was.
In midfield, we need a cm/cdm player like gravenberch/lavia or maybe even ampadu, just saying though.
In defence, disasi, todibo and onana since varane is injury prone and ddg is gone.
I like the analysis. Very thorough. Something tells me that ETH will have our defensive line so high that Onana will be playing by himself at times. Of course with his passing range it shouldn't be a problem. Exciting times ahead!

@Atlantis Football I have been thinking about the same thing. I think ETH actually wants to use this tactic cause looking back at last season this tactic is what I came up with in conclusion too.
That's why I've always preferred Rasmus Højlund to Victor Osimhen not just because of the price but the type of player Højlund is and the ability and traits he possesses will suit this tactic more. Højlund could drop deep and be that extra man while he would have a considerable amount of physicality and ball holding capabilities than a mere midfielder doing that extra midfield role. I saw that ETH tried to use Weghorst the same way but failed miserably cause he lacks pace. And can't seem to control the ball as good as someone like Rasmus would be able to. Rashford imo could do that role too given he is quite inconsistent on the wings , might turn out that the false 9 could actually be his true position given Jose didn't want him on the wings and Jose always turns out to be right!
This is a great way to create artificial transitions, and effectively forces the opposition to relax their press or risk getting destroyed in the channels and with fear of the pace of rashford/Antony in behind we can easily build out the back and maintain possession as we push up the pitch, though this build up would be most effective with a deep lying forward with a passing range and ability to progress the ball on the dribble or half turn, this could really work with a fully fit martial tho
