  1. I see this release trend is starting to take off. Im glad because the whole rotate and stabilize the clubface thing ( cant explain it well) messed me up.

  2. I have somewhat of a chicken wing in the follow through but much later than your example (like I pull my arms left instead of extending in the follow through). My shots tend to go straight and left but good power… needs a fix.

  3. I started doing this few months ago and hit changed everything. Better contact. Way better follow though, arms extended no chicken wing ect.
I find that turning the left wrist through impact also turns the arms from cause and effect

  4. Excellent video, arm rotation is something i practiced extensively during first lockdown, with a rubber mat, and those airballls in my garden, well worth it, as a result i hit a slight draw now, unless a fade required, at aged 69, added bonus, the extra distance throughout the clubs was most welcome.

  5. I think for the chicken winger (like me!) it makes sense to do what Eric is saying and then adjust. But If you look closely at Adam Scott club face on the follow through, it does close out some half way on the follow through but then it tends to stay somewhat stable after. It does not totally shut down like in Eric swing on this demo. He exaggerates to make the point I think. Crazy game but fun!

  6. You must need to pull the butt of the club ahead of the ball more then your instructing because I hit the ground hard when I try this?

  7. Great Video. I have been hooking a lot recently but striking has been really inconsistent. Thought I was flipping thru the ball but I always finish with left hand above the right so obviously I am not flipping. I think it might be overrotation in the body and a closed clubface giving me a hook. Cheers

  8. Originally, bodyturn and forearm rotation are incompatible, but great players such as Collin Morikawa and Nelicoda combine them well through supination at the top. I hope you can explain the benefits

  9. The video of the good vs bad at 8:10 seems to be quite similar to me? What am I missing? 😂
The shoulder and legs have to be quiet when performing the rotation?

  10. Thanks Eric…what about fairway woods? I assume it would be a little different as the distance between you and the ball has increased. Thanks I’m advance.

  11. Went from a strong grip to neutral feeling a lot of arm rotation and started hitting a lot more solid. How open should the chest feel at impact though? I feel im only slightly open if not facing the ball.

  12. This should be taught to everyone at the first lesson as swing 101. Thank you sir! I've been plagued by the lack of forearm rotation during downswing until recently I found out the exact same thing myself. I wish I could have seen this earlier. Really appreciated it Eric.

  13. Aha moment! Working this lesson with relaxing the front deltoids has been tremendous. Thank you for this lesson

  14. I’m new to golf trying to learn my swing your videos are helping me so much you have such good videos showing finishing the swing nobody shows that the tilt and straight arms are the rest of my swing I’ve never paid attention to thanks so good!

  15. This also worked great for me someone who fights the over the top tendency’s always skirting that line.

  16. When doing practice swings I frequently don’t hit the low point on my mat. Would this drill help fix that issue?

  17. Can’t wait to try this. My miss right now is flipping my hands bad at impact though so it worries me. Probably 2 different things cause I know I chicken wing

  18. Eric I think and this is just my observation to get that right arm over the left if you look at all those great players their left arm at impact is very connected to their left side with no space between the left arm and their left side body if their is space between the left side and the left arm weak shots happen I hope that made sense lol . Watch videos on all those great players they are all connected from right side to left side with no space in between before and after contact .

  19. I asked my PGA instructor about this one lesson — like, 'shouldn't my swing have some of this?' and he goes "Nooo no no, imagine how much timing you'd need to have perfect for that… let's just focus on a strong grip and making good contact." … is he wrong? or just not putting a lot of confidence in me just yet, trying to get my basics down?

  20. this is my main problem in my golf swing i get crunched with my lead shoulder trying to keep the club back and square

  21. Jordan Speith is the only tour player that doesnt rotate his arms that much, but he really rotates his body.

  22. so that I understand correctly?
You can play with hand release or body release? or both combined 🤣

  23. Best lesson! I've been struggling with my irons, thin and sometimes fat shots, with no confidence! This video, along with the lesson you did with James (I think, the "thud" video) have changed my game. Iron shots are crisp and straight! Can't thank you enough!
