Reece was pushing the ref the whole game which the panel took into account. Lets not get cute we all know who Reece was directing the comment at and Fifita didn't defend him he affirmed Reece directed the comment to the ref. It is well established the NRL is inconsistent Luai should have been suspended just because he wasn't doesn't mean Reece shouldn't. Montoya got 4 weeks for abusing another player last year which fell well short of what Reece said on the weekend.

andrew johns abused officials on 3 occasions in a match and was only charged for the expletive version for 2 matches and you could blatantly see him abusing the officials (jonathan thurston too). 3 matches for "not sure if or what he said to me but felt directed at me" is probably the most bizarre suspension i have ever seen.
NSW wanted to avoid a clean sweep.
I'm sure the reason they were there for 4hrs was because reeces team were trying to fight the charge 🤦
I reckon Luai just saw a body in front of him and first action was to push him out of his way in the moment then immediately realised it was a ref and you could see he was sorry straight away.
ALL YOU NEED TO DO is watch the clip. At the exact moment that he said the fatal words and flicked his arm in disgust, his head moved to look at Patty Carrigan. He was obviously telling Carrigan to piss off for trying to tone him down. So although he's a pork chop, he shouldn't be charged for something he specifically didn't do.
One way to avoid any confusion is to not use words like that during the game to begin with.
The judiciary only did that because of his Dad Rodney.

Make the player attend mandatory referee training for 3 weeks or test him for a 100% pass on 100 random rules of the game. Nothing worse than a referee without a whistle on the paddock.

He clearly abused the ref and they are obviously lying, and that's why the hearing took so long. If he'd manned up and not asked others to lie for him they wouldn't have wasted 4 hours on this. He's an amazing talent but needs to pull his head in.
Even though he may not even have done this to the ref, it probably won't hurt the kid. Was walking around on the field in a pair of sunnies straight after the game, like he owned the joint after playing a total of 2 origin games. So he has an element of douchebag or mug-lair in him that needs knocking down a peg or two. Could do with developing a bit of humility
The ref himself said he didn't hear him & penalised him for his body language WTF! He's flying too close to the sun & now it's time for everyone to bring him back down to earth. Too much doubt from the refs statement & it was a split decision, he should of got off. Hopefully KP makes himself available for QLD.

He most likely was swearing at carrigan. You don't loose it at a ref after an obvious call, it was an obvious obstruction. You loose it at a ref when they make a bad call. Patty probably told him in a hard line way to be patient and stop forcing it and causing errors and walshy was 2 emotional
Cam was the king of talking to the refs, he should start a course for NRL players

David Fifita even said he said it to the ref and also said him Walsh and carrigan met for coffee and discussed the matter before the hearing Reece got what he deserved he was also badgering the red all game and the ref had to tell Reynolds to pull him up at half time if you’re not the captain there’s no need to be talking to the referee full stop
More context beak please. His behaviour towards the ref was repeated (there is video and the ref stated that in the report) and the witnesses would do anything to get him off. Agreed this is the best thing for Walsh though for the broncos and qld. Love his passion it shows how much he cares.

Reeces frustration comes from an origin of complete bias and cheating from the refs, NRL try everything so the odds are against us even NEVER getting the first game, they go after him knowing he is a big part of qld, the length of the judiciary shows they were in a witch hunt with no evidence and calling witness players liars, whats the point of having players be witnesses if they are ALL liars,…the refereeing has elements of bias and cheating in most games, including NRLgames, after watching the game for 50 plus years ive never seem a more bias and clearly biased refereeing control, the penalty and six agains for NSW was a joke, when a team gets behind, there is an overwhelming change in the refereeing and decisions…the cheating continues at all levels against qld players and the team.,what a disgrace
