Do expensive running shoes make you faster?

  1. I think the best thing about a good running shoe is that you feel good the next day and not sore

  2. The more expensive shoes are normally more durable, comfortable, practical and stylish and normally should have better foot support and good fitting they don't make you faster but those factors can affect your speed

  3. I'd rather save my legs from injury and pay for the more expensive then pay for the cheap pair and feel like I need to go in for surgery the next day

  4. Your $40 auth Nike is x10 better than most of the $10 China shoes which is the most common shoes in the world

  5. The alphaflies were banned for a reason… because they so good. I would recommend investing in them especially if you run a lot and long distances. They’re better for your body and your time

  6. What do I think? I think you're a skinnier version of the guy from No country for old men

  7. I like to run but I don't get caught up with all of the types of running shoes available. I'll have my Nike Pegasus and I run my daily runs with that and even ran a couple marathons with them. I'm good with them.

  8. I think beginner runners should invest in thick soled shoes, but it's for support and not speed. After muscles manage to build up I guess the cheaper shoes will do, bur I didn't change. I did buy lighter shoes, but found out that loosing 300g doesn't make me faster 😅

  9. Bare in mind the carbon shoes are only supposed to last for 100km.

  10. I think you’re tracking measurements that don’t matter. It’s about stress on your joints and overall longevity in your running career. On top of that, the actual quality of the $40 shoes isn’t as good

  11. I ran 4k round the track in my expensive shoes then I ran 4k barefoot on grass at exactly the same ave pace 7:05 min mile my cadence and stride length were identical 179/180 Cadence stride length 1.26 m 🤷‍♂️ so the shoes gave me nothing maybe even less return on energy, you’d think the surface of the track combined with the bouncy cushioned sole and carbon plate would give you some advantage.

  12. For me it’s not about which shoes make me run faster, but what shoes make it easier to maintain a faster pace
