What makes Ranger so good and i do think hes a top 30 starter easy , way underrated , Rangers Changeup is very good , Hes been dominant against teams like the Braves , Mets , Astros , Dbacks , so in my humble opinion hes a top 25 starter , but that will have to play itself out , think of Marcus Strohman but better
As a Reds fan I am here to report that you shouldn't sleep on Abbott. He is still developing and getting better every start. Dude is for real. He was called up early due to team need. His command will be better. He has looked sensational. And he really has the right mindset and demeanor. From day 1 he has belonged. Despite what the metrics say, the ballpark factors are not as extreme as everyone thinks. Many pitchers have great numbers pitching for the Reds. Cueto, Bauer, Sonny Gray, Castillo etc. Hell Bauer won the Cy Young just a couple years ago pitching in that ballpark. Abbott doesn't give up hits with runners in scoring position. He attributes it to his mindset from being a closer in college. None of its a fluke with this kid. I couldn't be more impressed. He is better than Hunter Greene and he's only made 5 starts. He set the all time record for most scoreless starts to begin a career.

I watched Ranger pitch last night. He looked dominant and his control was pinpoint. On top of that, the air quality in Chicago was horrendous because of the Canadian wildfires. So he overcame that, too. His career ERA is like 3.18. If he’s available in your league, pick up Ranger NOW.

Why do you guys hate on Abbott so much? I almost dropped him a couple weeks ago due to your lack of enthusiasm. Same thing with Ranger. Yet you push detmers and taj Bradley Bobby miller Sheehan and Gavin Williams. It’s not even a sure thing that Gavin sticks in the rotation.

Marte's career year was with the juiced ball, and the 3 years that followed he didn't even come close to matching those totals. Pretty easy explanation why he was drafted past pick 200 Scott.

Ranger Suarez: I have not seen him pitch this year, but distinctly remember the regular season last year where he was not going into starts and was one of the worst between pitch fidgeters in MLB. He would take FOREVER to deliver a pitch, especially with runners on base. After three bad starts which may have due to rust after the start of the season and getting used to the new pitch clock rules, I wonder if he has now adjusted and maybe benefited because he has less time to think and can just go between pitches. He was still available in a Roto league this morning and I picked him up. I remember looking at him last week in a H2H points league and passed on him, taking Wade Miley instead.
