Super Bowl Review and the future of NBA and Pac-12 rights | Ep. 74 | Marchand and Ourand Podcast

Podcast hosts Andrew Marchand and John Ourand review Fox’s Super Bowl production, analyzing everything from the Kevin Burkhardt-Greg Olsen booth to the network’s multi-hour pregame show. The two also look back on the biggest stories of the season that just completed, from Amazon’s “Thursday Night Football” debut to YouTube’s “Sunday Ticket” deal. Tony Romo’s future in the CBS booth also gets the hosts’ focus.

Marchand and Ourand also handicap the NBA’s and the Pac-12’s rights negotiations. They outline what RSN viewers should expect in the next 30 days as Diamond Sports Group careens toward bankruptcy. Fox Sports’ announcement that Derek Jeter will join its baseball crew also becomes a topic. The duo end the podcast with a tribute to Barry Sacks, who died this week. Sacks spent 33 years as a producer at ESPN before leaving in 2016.

  1. And so it begins! OK gentlemen, CBS AND Turner have withdrawn from TV talks with the PAC and now The Athletic and SI reported that Ohio State canceled their Home and Home agreement with WA for the 2024 and 2025 seasons. I could be wrong but I wonder if the cancellation stems from the Buckeyes NOT wanting their game in WA to be televised on AMAZON????? Now having said that will Kansas St. cancel their game with AZ in Tucson for 2025? Will Miss St. cancel their game with AZ St. in 2024 in Phoenix? Will Minnesota cancel on Cal in Berkeley in 2025? Will GA Tech cancel with Colorado in Boulder in 2025? How about Texas Tech cancelling their game with Oregon in Eugene in 2024? Purdue is supposed to travel to Oregon St. in 2024, will they agree to play on AMAZON? Will TCU come to Stanford in 2024 if the game will be on AMAZON? Utah is scheduled to play both BYU and Baylor in Utah for 2024, ya think they want to be on Amazon? Rather than list ALL of the possible cancellations you can just Google "Future College Football Schedules" or FBschedules.com and see for yourself.
