#1 REASON Why You Don’t IMPROVE & This Drill Will FIX IT

Ive spent over 20 years helping golfers improve and for so many of them their attack angles were too shallow, they knew this but an attempt to fix it often resulted in poorer results, sound familiar?

Ive seen this all too often, but luckily I was able to establish just why this was happening and once i had figured it out it allowed me to speed up the improvement of so many of my students.

In this video I share with you the #1 reason why golfers don’t improve and then the fix that will allow you to improve quickly.

If your ball striking isn’t as good as it could be this is a must watch video!

  1. Chris, for me, there doesn’t seem to be enough time in the downswing to do both the sink and push-up moves. When I focus on the sink move, I crash the club into the ground. Push-up creates thin shots. How did you fix this timing in a full speed swing?

  2. Thanks I will give this a try, In fact I will do it ! there is no try ,do or do not, there is no try!!!

  3. Chris I'm a big fan as you know and your lessons have shown me that to hit the ball better I have to move my weight forward and when I do it properly the ball flies with little effort and just feels amazing, can't thank you enough mate 🙂

  4. Question unless I heard it wrong. First you say, miss the towel and clear the tee. Then, after the box is added, you say miss the towel and hit the tee.

  5. rory head does not move forward at all, it moves a bit downward , and if anything backwards. his head goes down and back, look at emblem on his cap.

  6. Great drills. Ive been havin alot of trouble lately but this lesson has helped immensely. Thank you.

  7. I recently discovered this move by chance. That day I was so frustrated with hitting the balls thin and weak. I angrily wanted to drill the ball into the ground but lo and behold my body instinct took over and drove the left hip up around. I was shock to see how powerful that ball flew. The lesson from this is to trust your body. It will not let you harm yourself.

  8. Chris, great video. I saw something the other day that mentioned just doing practice drills without a ball to improve quicker. I’m going to combine both and see what the outcome is in a months time. Great content as always 👍

  9. Hi Chris, thank you so much, you're my number one youtube golf coach and your content is presented with the clearest and most professional instructional presentation. Please could you describe or make a new video on how the lead hand works in the downswing. Why right handed golfers wear the glove on the left hand? Do we, you concentrate on striking the ball with the back of "glove lead left hand" through impact trying to force the back of lead left hand towards the target? What is so confusing is that for right handed golfers such as myself we use our right dominant hand to throw and skip stones into water etc, though is it the complete opposite in the golf swing, is the left hand, specifically the back of the left hand the most dominant and important in the golf swing? Thank you.

  10. Hello Chris, I just went out to the driving range and applied you advice…. your sooo right, FORWARD AND DOWN! it took some time to get the rhythm, but buy the end of the bucket I was seeing the effect the forward and down had on my irons AND my woods. Thank you, I will continue to work on this, I see it works

  11. Very well explained advice with some great tips as to how to execute it. Brilliant.

  12. Hi Chris. This is my first Chris Ryan YouTube video. It was EXACTLY what I needed. Short, to the point, and it covered all areas. I absolutely go out of my mind watching other teachers spending 80% of the video SHOWING me every possible mistake THAT I DON'T NEED TO KNOW ABOUT. Thank you very much…LH Bob in Houston

  13. I went out and played 9 holes today….. I didn't top or chunk one shot the entire time I was making good contact with my irons and woods and the ball was in the air for the most consistent time EVER!… FORWARD AND DOWN! … Thanks

  14. Question for you please: how do I do this whilst ensuring I have an out to in path? I like to fade the ball😊
