  1. I use the X-Talon G235 for SwimRun events and swear by the grip, its superb.! Also Inov8 shoes come in different widths and the G235 is one of the narrow ones.

  2. Great to see a good honest review..the only pair I have are the Sauconys and I have to agree with you, I didn't like them at first at all but now with alot of miles in them I really enjoy running in them, great grip and the rock plate really helps..

  3. Great rewiew!
Having a wide feet the X-talon 200 is a perfect option for me!Despite to the weight, amazingly cushioned and protective!
Thanks for sharing and hope I see you again with other reviews!!👍🤘

  4. Great review. The Saucony Peregrine 10 ST are superb but agree they can be a little slippy on wet rock. I've done over 300km in mine so far. I actually think the Saucony Peregrine 10 is a better shoe overall though. I'm on my 2nd pair now and managed over 600km in the 1st pair. Looking forward to the new version which comes out in a few weeks

  5. Ooh. Been contemplating the Peregrine ST as the trails around be have turned to sloppy mud.. currently resorted to a cheapy pair of Evadict MT cushion from Decathlon..as my old Evadict XT7 started to show the mileage and my feet started feel a bit battered. They’ve been coping very well.. This has been the first proper test review of them I’ve seen, thank you. How are they at resisting the water and mud? My current ones have no resistance at all..

  6. Just to clarify a point, the Nvii Forest 2 do not retail at £155, they retail at £135, not sure where this information has come from but in the interest of balance and fairness I think this should be raised, especially as such a point of their "high price" point was made in the review when they are actually pretty much the same as the other brands here!

  7. I don’t know what Tussex or Fell are. Also, it’s the Peregrine 10 ST, which is slightly water resistant and has 1.5mm longer lugs!

  8. Great review! The Walshes' upper looks horrible – wouldn't wanna touch them once they're wet!

  9. I´ve run about 60km in Peregrine 10 ST and had to give them away. You´re right that the midsole needed some time for breaking in… But the main problem was the outsole – very slippy on everything – wet rock, wet asphalt, even in mud. I´ve just bought the standard Peregrine 10, hope they´re more grippy…

  10. Grip on wet wood, roots, etc.. = adidas Skychasers/Agravic (till 2018/2019), Skychasers LT/XT (newer Models).

  11. Great Review – I've worn X-Talon for a long time now but really interested that you said you wouldn't wear them for long distance. Having seen this , I've now bought a pair of the La Sportiva Mutants and they are absolutely fabulous – really cushioned and comfortable and grip to rival the Talons – would agree on them being a bit narrow but toe box is roomy so not a problem. Thank you so much – I'm looking forward to wearing them in 20 miles of Surrey mud this weekend!!

  12. Great review!
You might want to have a look at Icebug Acceleritas which look a bit like a pair of Hoka or Inov8, quite minimalist with a very good grip, especially on wet rocks!
Plus, this Swedish company stresses the importance of the environmental impact of their shoes by detailing their portion of recycled materials and their carbon foot print! 🙂

  13. Got my first trail run coming up, it's 4 parts so 12.5m, 37,28 and 29 or thereabouts.
Went with the Hoka speedgoat 4 also have the Clifton 8 so know I'll get on well with them.
But also gone with Altra mont blanc as a faster option.
Innov8 whilst good are too spongy, very comfortable but not made for speed demons, plus being strong I was always breaking traction with my parkclaw 275.

  14. Hi! I've just done Born Survivor only 10k in scott supertac 3 that was given to me by Scott to test. I absolutely loved running in them and considering buying a pair. Have you tried them? How do they compare to the supertrac 2? I'm new to running and I was wearing salomon which were great but the toe box wasn't wide enough and I kept getting blisters between my toes! I bought saucony peregrine 12 but I think the low drop isn't working for me and around 10k my forefoot starts hurting so I'm sadly considering selling them and replacing them with scott supertrac 3. Any input/ recommendation would be greatly appreciated

  15. You don't really need cushioning for running… Regardless of where you're running.

One's feet are enough to absorb the shocks, it's a different story of you heel strike though.

Diy your shoes to zero drop barefoot trail running and slowly transition into it, and thank me later.

  16. The most grippy rubber in my experience is vibran megagrip. That rubber just works in any condition for me.

  17. Just discovered this channel – excellent "real" review with a superb pronunciation of "mud". PS Interesting that the UK sourced vegan friendly shoe is the cheapest!
