The bears gave fields enough to show us if he’s good or not. Poles wasn’t going to go all in Feilds and get him another #1 WR like the eagles did with Hurst because Hurst going into last year showed out a lot more than Fields. Poles held back so he could move on next year. We’ll know by the end of the year if we need to move on or not.

Alot of guys dropped catchable and " on target" passes last year, which reflects on Fields stats.
I like how they just assume the rest of the team will be good, but it's illegal for us to assume Justin is our franchise QB
Carm is right for once. You can't win without a pass rush, I don't care how good the rest of your team is. If people want to claim Gervon is Chris Jones and Flus' scheme will win solely with interior pressure, cool. That's an argument. I think it's an exaggeration, but it's an argument. Still think a quality EDGE would do wonders.
@6:52…..the defense stopped the Bears in 2023. Not Fields. Some ppl keep putting it all on Fields. No one talks about Getsy either.
Nickle coverage(tho I think is top 10) won't be effective against the run and a failing pass rush. If JF1 lead offense is putting up 27-34 pts a game. With a 65-35% pass/rush. Win or loss, that makes JF1 our guy. I feel optimistic that this will be the case with the additions to WR n Oline. We should be jumping right back in the one possession score games just like the last half of the season. A more polished looking offense will be proof enough for our QB. One more draft for defense, and we're going deep in the playoffs.

I don't see this as the offense being the group who will cause the trajectory of the bears. I see this as the defense being the ultimate place on where the bears can get because they were the reason that the bears were losing in the second half of the season last year because they couldn't stop the other teams. The offense during the second half of the season when Justin was the QB averaged 26.7 points a game. The Chiefs offense last year as the highest scoring offense in the league at 29.2 points a game. Unless you think we will be a better offense than the chiefs this year our ability to win more games is tied directly to how much our defense improved.

Why do TEs get 3 years to develop, but a very raw Dom. Robinson is written off after 1 year with a bunch of other nobodies? Same goes for new DL. Nobody seems to expect anything at all. Cautious optimism they can improve?? They sure need to!
