In today's market, there is no way we should sell ASM for £30 million. As Alex says, we won't find someone of his quality for the same price.
That was comedy gold from Alex on Hancko when he said: "he also kind of fits our mould of xg and whatever, and not scoring".
For those wondering, Hancko has an xG of 3.1 but 0 goals. Pretty much inline with Botman and Burn's poor xG :P.
Also Paul, can you ask Alex to add player injury history to the analysis. Injury history is FAR more important than most stats. ASM for instance is injured 40% a season as is Wilson. It's way more important than say checking a player's agent.
Hancko is rumoured to be a LB not CB purchase.
Maxi is a huge frustration – I know Alex loves him, i feel he is a huge player for us when he is on form. however, for every assist he has or successful dribble there are about 20 missed passes ball losses, overhit crosses, off target shots. He offers nothing in the press, doesn't track back enough, however after he came back from injury it did seem he was tracking back more, perhaps the impact of Eddie's training. i also think he tends to take people on less now, and tried to find a easy layoff, this could be a confidence issues due to not wanting to reinjure his legs, or it could be Eddie asking him to find the easy pass to keep retention of the ball higher. He is a huge player and it is due to him, and Willock why we didn't get relegated under Bruce. He just frustrates me; Diaby would be a much preferred option.
African Cup of nations is no longer played in January i believe it got moved to off season so it didn't impact major leagues.
I've heard Tinelli from Rob, Tonoli from Chris and Paul, and Tonioli from another Newcastle channel. Italian clubs won't sell to us anymore. 🤣

For Maddison its a question of " want " does he really want it that badly, Spurs would be perfect for him as he's been Spursy all season with Leicester on there dramatic decline to the championship. Got to question his ambition if he goes south just like Kane staying at Spurs, when Sherringham, Berbatof, Carrick and Bale all left and won things, A team on the up in the CL or another Spurs rebuild, as for ASM sell he is consistent at being inconsistent.

It's crazy to sell ASM. He has a rare talent and is adapting to Eddie's style. It was his fitness not his ability that failed him last season. If that continues then I agree but I consider it's worth the risk keeping him to retain that X factor in the squad.
