NERVE-SHREDDER! | Cricket highlights w/ commentary | NWLCC 1sts v Farnsfield 1sts | S3 ep4

A glorious late spring day greeted us as we trundled down the A614 to the undulating farmland of Farnsfield.

Both sides have had a mixed start to their 2023 campaigns and were looking to ignite a run of wins to elevate them up the Bassetlaw Championship.

This turned out to be one of the closest finishes since Wheatley TV began – expect superb batting displays, a confusing dismissal and Bushy taking the camera out with a boundary rope slide!

  1. "Toppers out caught behind"… So the umpire needed to consult with the square leg umpire to see if the ball carried to the wicket keeper?… who was standing up… I really wish league umpires would admit that they fell asleep rather than going through these shenanigans in league matches! 😀

  2. What a fantastic game of cricket. Very exciting. Well vatted Bushy. A great team effort yet again but pipped at the post

  3. Where ia Jourdan? He is badly needed to get early wickets in a match without a green top pitch..where Jono's swing don't do much. I think this season Jono's line has been a bit wide and the spinners are bowling short of a length.

    There i go.. Armchair coach

  4. Why does the standing umpire need to consult with square leg over a caught behind? Jesus christ.

  5. Mmm, one that got away I think! Too many trying to smash it out the ground when you required less than a run a ball! Easy to get carried away I suppose, but I think you should have won that! A bit of better game management needed, great vlog though👍

  6. One of the most bizarre umpiring decisions there, if he was out caught then was no need to co sult square leg umpire.

Really poor cricket to come running down the track at the left arm "spinner" trying to hit him out the ground just after had lost a wicket, just play controller cricket !!

Talking of the left arm "spinner", thats the type of cannon fodder that should be going for 80 rins in his 10 overs without giving a sniff of a chance, put thr bad balls away of which probs 2 an over and rotate the strike manipulate the field get then running around. From the highlights was not enough of that which is disappointing, something you would tbink amyone who can hold a bat would be able to do.

  7. What a great game of cricket! Look forward to my weekly dose of Wheatley ..Great commentary as usual.

  8. I think it would be great to have an end of season count of every "Shot Bushy" from here-on-in. I sense that it could be a fair old number. It's my new NWLCC obsession now that edges seem to be making it to Tom Waterfield at slip (well batted again – must be doing wonders for BAS bat sales!)

  9. An absolutely brilliant game of cricket. Thanks James for that excellent exhibition of good village cricket. Went to the wire and exciting to the last ball. Imagine the beers tasted good after that

  10. The on-drive is a great barometer with which to measure class and Duane stroked a couple there that would have had Len Hutton purring. If the talented opener can repeat that enough weeks it would allow the more 'flamboyant' members of the side to (dare I say it…) 'bat around the Bush' , not something NWCC are generally renowned for 🙂 Great match this one, keenly fought and a lot of promise even in defeat. And best wishes to Eddie and his crew (congrats too)

  11. Even down here in the middle of Victoria, Australia I was feeling the pressure!! Great game.
