Perfect start to my week,abit of golf life!
Hole in 1 is 100% luck, I’ve seen a woman hit a daisy cutter from the tee, ran whole way to green, smashed flag and gone in. It can’t be talent if it’s 1/1000000

Ok, right off the bat, haven't even seen him play the first shot yet… lovely looking hole but just too long. So many older people etc are going to be playing woods into that, especially if it's windy, and that's no fun. There's a 210y par 3 on my course, probably 235 off the whites and it's just a joke.

My grandad had 12 holes in one got a news clipping when he got his last when he was 70ish and then at 14 handicap. Every now and then think about that him with his mates on the course and always makes me smile.

I think HIO gets harder as you improve as a player, as your ball flight gets higher and you generate more spin so the area for landing becomes smaller

You need talent. I'm a very poor golfer and I've never come close to an ace. There's absolutely luck involved, but if you're not good enough to actually hit the ball within a few feet of the pin, you've got no chance.

Hole in one, Skill and luck, don't matter how good you are you need a bit of luck..Not all luck though considering you are actually aiming to get the ballin the hole.
